Please check if the disk is finalized. Do you have nero burning rom installed on your pc?

Hi. in many DVD camcorders. you are suposed to closed o finalize the dvd disk . by doing this it will be playback compatible with your pc or dvd player.

NOTE
after finalizing a disk you will not able to record any longer on that disk (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RAM, DVD RW) If you record for 5 minutes and finalized the dvd it will have a 5 min movie !!!

Sony DCR-DVD403 C 13:02 Error Message so won't record movies.

Place an empty disc in, format the disc, record a little scene. Turn off camcorder. Place the error disc in the camcorder, turn on the camcorder all the way to play/edit. If this doesn't work turn it to record and try to record. Worked for some of my error disc

Can not get video files from a mini dis dcr dvd 108 handycam when I try to import to my pc it says does not support this dis i was using usb cable to pc with sony's software thanks jim

First make sure to finalize recorded disc in camcorder, finalization option is available in camcorder menu and will be enable by powering camcorder with AC charger/ adapter.
Now you can transfer movie files in computer or put recorded disc in computer dvd rom and copy files.

I am having a sony hi 8 ccd trv 58 model handycam. i want a driver to transfer my videos to my personal computer. any free drivers available?

CCD-TRV58 is analog camcorder and can not be connected with computer directly as camcorder does not have USB or iLink/ DV ports.
Computer needs digital format movie data to store / edit files.
You need to hook camcorder audio-video out to DVD recorder and burn DVD of camcorder movie so you will get digital format of movie. Put that DVD in computer and copy files for further process.

You do need some software to record a DVD, but most computers come with it. Depending on the age of the computer is the DVD drive one that records or a play only unit? You don't need a particular brand of DVD but I suggest using a reputable brand, Verbatim, Memorex etc rather than the 'el cheapo' varieties as moves are priceless memories. Better still, make two copies.

yes....BUT....You'll need your computer to convert first. Although this is the US version camorder that you purchased, the software that comes with the camcorder allows you to convert you recording from NTSC to PAL when your ready to produce your movie. You can do this by opening up Power Produce or Power Director(software that comes with you camcorder) on you computer transfering you movie(s), editing if you would like though you dont have to, then select produce movie. The options offer you what choices on what to create; file, dvd, youtube video, and so on. You'll also see an option to produce in NTSC (default) or PAL. This is the only way that your recordings can become compadable with and be shown IN color on you PAL devices. If this isnt done and you go srait to your PAL recorder with this camcorder, our movies will be shown in black and white and or a bit distorted with no sound.

Can I playback my movies on a DVD-ROM drive?

No, DVD-RAM disc recorded on the DVD Camcorder will not play back on every drive. Some of the new DVD-ROM drives designed to be compliant with the new DVD-RAM book2 standards will playback discs recorded on the DVD Camcorder. Many previous DVD-ROM drives on the market that came out before the DVD-RAM standard was released will not play back discs recorded on the DVD Camcorder. HITACHI manufactures DVD-ROM drives for some PC manufactures as OEM products. HITACHI model GD-7500 DVD-ROM has DVD-RAM read/write compatibility.
