The thermal limit is a one time fuse. You will have to dissassemble the heater in the base for the kettle. DO NOT bypass the limit. IF it failed the kettle was empty or overheating. The Limit fuse is not owner serviceable.

My Breville water kettle stopped heating water. This is my second teakettle to do this. We have had this second kettle for about 2 years. We always were careful to make sure the kettle is off before

Unless you can take it apart and repair it yourself, it probably isn't worth the cost to have it repaired. There are several websites that sell parts, but you really have to be familiar with electrical circuits to diagnose it. Possibilities are:
1. It could be the thermostatic switch that turns it off as it reaches temperature. These are little devices with two wires connected and are in the base of the unit. these normally reset themselves but can stop working, especially if they have gotten wet.

2. It could be the cord to the unit with a wire broken at the base or the plug end.
3. It could be a thermal fuse; these are about 1/4 inch in diameter and may be hidden in an insulating sleeve near the element; they are sensitive to both heat and current.

3. It could be the element is burned out.

THE element does not get hot

Sounds like your tea kettle may have exceeded it's useful life. Don't know about Cuisinart, but generally these kinds of parts are not replaceable. I am afraid you may be looking at a new appliance. Sorry.

I have posted a video on how to disassemble CPK-17 kettle and repair stuck lid and a leak at the base with no replacement parts available. You can check it out here:

How do i replace thermal fuse on an oster 5965 tea kettle?

This unit is discontinued and I doubt it would be cheaper than buying new and that's IF you can find it, sorry.

You might get by with a $10 "Digital Power Timer", though. That will shut your kettle off after whatever amount of minutes and seconds you program it for.

Breville tea kettle won't turn on

anon.nick-20625 was right.

Opened the bottom of the kettle, not the charging base, using the three odd screws.

Found the white trip switch, which was a white line in the socket which connects the kettle to the charging base. Pressed it with a screwdriver and it came out more. Tested the kettle, works!

Dead cuisinart electric tea kettle

Your tea kettle has a thermal fuse inside that more that likely got over heated, it happens all the time with irons, coffee makers, most small appliances that are electric. you have to take the bottom off to find it and replace it. does it have an indicator lamp?

How to clean the inside of tea pot (scale deposits)?

Vinegar is very good at removing scaly deposits. Heat white/clear vinegar just as you would normally heat the water for your tea. After heating the vinegar, pour out and rinse thoroughly with water. If there are still deposits after this first attempt, use vinegar once again. Once you are satisfied that all the deposits have been removed, heat water in the tea pot 2-3 times to remove any smell or taste from the vinegar (before using for tea).

Red light's on... but no hot water!

OK, inside the unit there are three items, the heating element, thermostat, and thermal fuse. What has happened is the element got too hot and the thermal fuse opened. There is no reset button. In some cases you may run across a defective heating element or thermostat but its not common. The fix would probably be replacement of the thermostat and thermal fuse. For this, you would have to contact a small appliance repair center in your area.
