Question edited for full 'make model (what it is)'.

It looks like that camera only has internal memory storage. You connect the camera to a computer and move them for storage and viewing.

Why doesn't my digital cammra save my photos

Do you have a memory card in the camera? Without a memory card some cameras do not have the capability to store pictures. If you do have a memory card make sure it is for photos. I had 2 friends this year that had the wrong cards in their cameras and no pictures were saved. Hope this helps.

My hitachi hdc-1409e/hdc-1409ep will not upload to my laptop

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

I have several SanDisc compact flash cards, most 4 gig, and some show full in my Nikon camera even after formatting. I have also loaded them up on the computer and emptied the contents with no luck. They...

If you reied formating these cards in your computer and it did not removed the photos, then format these cards using the Nikon camera.
When I format my compact memory card in my Nikon it erases all the photos at once.

How do I recover deleted photos and movies from my sony dsc w-180? Is there a free software from sony?

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Next" and wait for it to do it's magic.

I use s compact flash and the photos taken show shot that are poor color quality and seem to fade of run. i have tried to chande compact discs to no avail

This may be a camera rather than a card problem, you need to isolate the issue.

1) If you have another card, take a photo and check, if the photo is good then you've a card problem. If the photo is like the others you've got a camera problem.

2) If you don't have another card, you can try taking out your current card and taking a photo, this should store on you camera's internal memory. If that's poor, you've got a camera problem.

3) All of these photo's should be transfered to a pc for checking. If they're poor on you camera and good on the PC, it's probably you camera LCD thats got a problem.

Memory card will not show up on my computer.

Verbatim compact flash card has over 200 photos corrupted files. I volunteered to take photos for local senior anniversary I was the main camera now, I have lost the content. Files are Dcim--JPO, POG and worse coded files not JPEGs and I even with trial acdsee repair I am unable to rename and restore these photo files. CVS photo was able to open some of the files with their program but advised we would need to find the proper recovery program to restore some of the files.HELP

Memory Card

If you transfer the photos to your computer from the camera, you should be able to save to another memory card. I can't say whether or not the photos on the new memory card will show up on your camera since there may be certain requirements to display on camera screen.
Plug your camera into the computer USB or insert old memory card. A box should pop up giving you the option to view files. Copy and Paste (or Drag) selected photos to a specified folder on your computer (Like My Pictures in My Documents). Insert new memory card. Copy and Paste (or Drag) selected photos to the drive for your memory card.

Faulty Memory Card

Sounds like the file allocation table on the card got screwed up. Try Googling Compact Flash Data Recovery. I know you're not using compact flash cards but the techniques for data recovery are pretty much the same regardless of the media. If and when you're able to recover what you can, I wouldn't use that card anymore myself. Good luck!
