Hi, I have a HOOVER 500MB WASHING MACHINE and on both wash cycles it repeatedly gathers all the clothes around the agitator?

I stop it then spread the clothes around the outer area but it does it again, straight away. Thanks, James.

Too many clothes, not enough water, usually. However, this is a known issue on this Australian Washer.

Throw it out, and buy a Front Loader. They take more laundry, use less water and electricity and don't tangle.

Clothes wrapping around washing machine agitator.

This issue could be caused by a number of things. It is possible that the clothes are not properly balanced in the wash drum, causing them to wrap around the agitator. It could also be a problem with the agitator itself, or with the transmission.

Hoover 500mb washing machine doesn't 'click' through the cycles

Sounds like your timer is not working correctly. I would suggest replacing it, as there isn't a way to repurchase timers.

Your description leads me to believe your problem is with the agitator DAWGS. Remove your agitator and check inside the agitator to see if one or more are broken off. If they brake your agitator won't work as it should. Good Luck Friend.

Hi

It is normal for the drum to sway excessively and hit the balance switch if the load is not evenly distributed around the drum or if you have excess cloths.

Once the balance switch is trigerred, you can reset by openning and closing the door. It is a safety mechanism which stops the spin cycle if the drum sways excessively.

If this tends to happen often, then you need to make sure the machine is properly balanced and not leaning too much to the back.

Also the drum suspension rods do tend to wear out over time and loose their firmness, causing the drum to sway excessively. You can check this by opening the lid. Pushing down and from side to side onto the agitator, and seeing if their is a firm bound on the drum. Also making sure the drum returns to centre position. If the suspension springs feel loose and wayward, then they will need replacement.

Ash

The 7kg hoover will wash then stop agitating

There can be many reasons why the machine does not agitate. If it does not complete the cycle, then it can be a problem with the timer control, see The cycle doesn't advance .
If cycle goes on, but does not agitate, it can be the agitator and more, see It doesn't agitate or There's no delicate or regular spin or agitate
