Slide mechanism doesn't work, must be because the belt has perished.

Prepare to turn projector upside down.
2. Unscrew & remove focusing lens.
3. Turn projector upside down & look from the base face of the projector towards the lens aperture - for a slot just under the lid lip. There is a black tab which can be slid with a screwdriver away from the slide path.
4. There's a similar slot at the back under the lid lip and the end of the row of vent holes.
5. After sliding these, the lid is loose - so while holding the lid in place, turn the projector back over onto its feet.
6. The lid now simply lifts off - first at the slides side, hinging away and then off.

Helpful to know how to take cover off, I'll work out the belt fitting when it arrives, hoping it can stretch over the fan to reach the pulleys.

How do I open up a Rank Aldis 2000 Auto Deluxe Slide Projector to change the bulb and free a jammed slide?

There is usually a sliding tab on the side of the projector (behind the handle) that toggles between "manual" and "automatic" advance.

I have a Rollei p35af slide projector. It does not move on the remote although the mechanism is running. What is needed to make it move on the remote(could it be a broken fuse).

Partial Answer (maybe)
If you mean that the Slides do not advance when you push the remote then You have the same problem I encountered on my Rollei P350A. I opened the projector and found that the Drive Belt between the motor and the Slide changing mechanism was broken. I actually found the black broken string in the Projector case. I did not fix my projector yet since I am looking for a replacement Drive Belt (posted question above a little while ago)

Fan noise Slide Projectors

Fan noise on a Carousel 4200 Slide Projector is usually not the fan at all - - it is usually caused by the fan or mechanism drive belts (they stretch out and loose their elasticity over time & wear). Replacing the belts and re-greasing the fan axle should quiet the projector down nicely. The belts can be purchased from: www.micro-tools.com
Words of warning:
* This replacement will require an almost total disassembly of the projector.
* Do NOT interchange the belts!!! They are size-specific.

We have a Kodak Carousel 4600 projector that needs repair. It holds 80 slides and it runs quitely while there is no slide showing. Once the remote kicks over to show a slide the fan gets really...

I suspect the problem you have is a stretched drive belt (from the power motor to the slide change mechanism). The good news is there are still parts available from: www.micro-tools.com The problem is the replacement of this belt is a involved disassembly - at the very least you would need great mechanical aptitude and (most important) a service manual. I would recommend locating a factory-trained service dealer to make this repair for you.
Good Luck !

Projector works fine, but will not advance slides. Does nothing with remote or with forward/reverse buttons on projector.

Try a different tray (preferably a Kodak 80-slide tray). If it works, then the problem is a tray problem. If it makes no difference, check the "SELECT" function. If that works, then your projector requires an adjustment to the slide change mechanism. If it does not work, remove the tray and push the "REVERSE" button 4 or 5 times (this will clear a mechanism jam if one has occurred). If you still have nothing, then chances are that the slide change mechanism drive belt is broken or stretched. try the diagnostic things I suggested. If they are no help, I'm sorry to say you need the help of a factory-trained repair dealer. Good Luck !!

Light and cooling fan work. Will not feed or project slides.

Based on your description, it sounds like a problem in the slide change mechanism. If it does not project images, it means the "dark shutter" is not opening when a slide is in the gate. The fact that it does not rotate the carousel tray could be caused by several things in the slide change mechanism. The easiest to diagnose would be the belt that transfers power from the motor to the mechanism has broken or popped off. That would cause all the problems you describe. Your best bet is to take it to a factory-trained service dealer for an absolute diagnosis & repair. I should warn you, however - parts for the AudioViewer series are in very short supply!

Kodak Ektagraphic model B-2 slide projector.- It does not start. I checked the power cable and motor OK but I don't know how to reach and check the thermal fuses. I also don't know how to reach the...

If the motor is "OK" (turning), then it's not a fuse, it's the belt that the motor drives to power the slide change mechanism. There are 2 belts: 1 that drives the fan & one that drives the slide change mechanism.

AIREQUIPT 1135 - focus works but can't get the auto slide to work

If the slide tray doesn't advance or reverse using the on-board or remote control buttons, chances are that: 1. You have a broken mechanism drive belt. 2. You have a jammed slide change mechanism module or 3. The mechanism trip contact is trapped behind its mating contact on the mechanism camshaft.
All of these problems require service documentation & special tools. My recommendation is to find an Authorized Repair Dealer.

The Fan does not run on my Ektalite 1500

Either the power motor has failed or the fan belt has broke. With the lamp removed (important!!), turn the projector on and see if the slide change mechanism functions. If it functions (moves your slide tray back & forth), then chances are that it is the fan belt. If it does not move the tray, then I would suspect the lamp thermal fuse has opened. Either problem will require a repair by a factory-trained repair dealer.
