Needs to be reset or fuse blown. Take to repair shop, cover has to be taken off and fuse replaced. You could fix it yourself but the warranty won't be honored. Do it yourself electronic shop should have a replacement fuse, may have to be soldered in place. Repair shop, should cost around $30.00 to $45.00 to fix, price of fuse $4.00 to $6.00. Your choice.

Hi,

SOURCE: Standy mode system wil not turn on
When you connected the speakers, one of the following may have occurred: 1) Crossed the wires (smoked the outputs) 2) Presented too low an impedence load to the amp section (overheated and smoked) There are other possibilities as well, but those are the most common. In any case, try disconnecting hte speakers altogether and trying to turn on the system. If it turns on, then the problem is either the wiring or a bad speaker. If the system stil won't power up completely, then the output section needs to be checked. These units have discrete output transistors that can be checked by a service shop. These are not too expensive but are somewhat unique to Aiwa systems. Figure on $20-$40 for parts. Dan
