3 ton air conditioner {1 yr. old } has rattle

need to check power on unit side of reset may be tripped

not sure i use mine without exhaust hose

4 ton 10 seer. Is a new piggy back or slab coil being added? If you are using the existing 31 yr old coil then it will not work correctly.

Pretty sure the 5C = 5 tons.The model # will always help with size...3/4 hp is on 4ton & 5ton

first check to see if contactor is pulling in
if so check you have 230 volts across terminals
if yes check the capacitor
if good check compressor windings
you did not indicate whether to condenser
fan is running

the answer is in your model number looks like a 2.5 ton number is that the right model # call any dealer should be able help. every 12,000 btus equal 1 ton good luck.

first off you should have a four ton unit. what is your super heat? is it pulling attic or outside air?

Its done all the time. It is sometimes better to do this because you run a colder coil and rmoves more humidity. The newer unit have variable speed fan and run slower to do the same thing. Remember the lower the humidity the higher you can raise your tsta. Example In arizona at 95 degrees you dont feel the heat as much because of the lower humidity. Its ok to do so. You get more btus out of your unit that way. Rus. I have dozens of units with air handlers 1/2 ton smaller...

Check air temp out vent should be approx 20 degrees colder than room temp if it is your unit is too small for the amount of space you are cooling.Rule of thumb 1 ton(12,000btu's) for every 400 sq ft of uninsulated space

do you have a totaline t-stat. they and some other brands have a fan recirculation setting in the installers menu.

this is assuming that this happens in addition to the heating or cooling normally
