I've updated my psp system software to v5.51 and suddenly my games are gone (they are there but the psp cannot detect them).

Nothing could happen now because once you've update your psp with v5.51 it will not downgrade and you can only play UMD games or demo.

Try to find a Earlier version of software, since your games are not made to run on the newer software

Your psp can be downgraded from v5.51, who ever modded it for have them do it all over again, my son updated his psp when he put BIGS 2 in the UMD drive and asked him to update and he did then he couldn't play his games from memory stick, I went to my friend that modds the psp he installed CFW M-332 then I updated to M-336 and its be working just fine since then.

How can i upgrade my psp2001 5.50prome-4 to 6.20?

How to Update PSP to Firmware Ver 6.20

It's easy to update/upgrade the Playstation Portable (PSP) 3000 system software to firmware version 6.20. There are two ways to do a PSP 6.20update - regular file download and network update. We did an update on our pink PSP 3000 using the network update procedure since our place has wifi.
Why did we choose network update in updating our PSP firmware to ver 6.20? It's much simpler. Here is a quick tutorial on how to carry out PSP 6.20 update using Network Update (Method 1):
  1. Go to Network Settings to configure your PSP WLAN by setting up an access point.
  2. Under Network Settings, it would be best to choose Automatic to simplify the process. Your PSP console will search for any wireless network available nearby.
  3. To Update System Software to the latest 6.20 firmware version, Go to Network Update. Be sure your battery is full because the update will fail if you turn off you PSP console or if the unit shuts down due to lack of battery power.
Method 2: Download File To Update PSP 6.20 Firmware Using a PC. If you prefer to update your console using the download method, here are the simple steps in doing this:

My psp charge was finished and i have not charge it at that spot, so now its not getting on, only the power light get on for a while and then suddenly get off. so plz help me out

The PSP is bricked -- what that means is that the system software has become corrupted. Usually this is due to an incomplete system update. The following company will un-brick your system (reload the system software) for $29:

My PSP's games are gone! HELP :(

updating is usually not a problem. If your memory card, was very cheap or is kind of old. chances are it has gone bad by now. try connecting the psp to your computer, go to the iso folder, and check if there are any games there. If there aren't than try downloading games again. However they will probably get deleted sooner or later. Only way I see it , is you need a new memory stick

Cannot play copied games in psp's memory stick after updating

Hi Aneeshameeda

I think the best solution is to downgrade your PSP system software to the original version and check if your games load. What might have happened is that the firmware software that was on the PSP was downgraded to play copied games, and now you've changed the firmware to a newer version and that is why your games won't load. You might hac=ve to get your PSP downgraded again to play the games from your memory card.

PSP

The game you have on your memory card is an image file (an illegal copy) and it would have been running under modified firmware such as Homebrew.

Now that you have upgraded and gone back to official SONY firmware you will be unable to play this game as SONY do not support illegal files.

Sony psp

The first check the version you are running on psp, >> Go to the PSP Menu and move across to the "Settings Menu". Scroll down, select to "System Settings" >> "System Information" and you should see version of your PSP. If the UMD has a high version than ur console, u need to update ur psp.

see at my blog for psp update guides.
