Please enter in factory menu by input the service menu code, find the correct service menu code for your television in http:tvservicemenu.blogspot.com I hope you can fix your problem.
Don't worry about the white wire. This is the antenna for the optional remote control...if you push the "find" button on the remote, if you have that option, the green status light flashes repeatedly. Press the other button, if it's in remote, and it'll take a pic.
If your recvr connect to tv via coax then put your tv on chan. 3 or 4 to reagin pic, if it a tv 2 location try cahn's 22 60 or 73 or run a auto program or auto tune.
If it says "weak or no signal", this means your are not showing the correct input or have no channels programmed.
To find the the correct video input:
1. turn On the device you are trying to see
2. press the [input] button on the side of the TV until you get a picture (wait 3 seconds between pressing the button)
You program the TV by accessing it in the User Menu.
Also, You may access the inputs using the TV remote. Each input button (V4 and V5) may need to be pressed muliptle time to access the picture . When you press this on the remote you will notice the input change from Composite 1, Component 1, S-Video. V5 will show composite 2 and component 2. Using the side panel allows youto scan all inputs in case you are not sure.
Turn off the closed caption portion in the menu . The text 1-2-3 or 4 is on blanking out the center of your screen . The closed caption button could be on your remote and is being accidently pushed . Good luck
Pics are about 2 per second. If action is fast, like downhill snowboarding, then may not be fast enough for you. Use MOVie mode at 640 by 480. Not bad.
gonk,
Sorry but you're going to have to be a bit more specific than that.. What kind of Tv is it, what model number, is it the original remote, do you have an otherwise good pic and sound, do functions (vol, ch, power) on the Tv work???
