Read out the codes, fix the faults , cancel the codes, test drive if any codes come back the fault is not fixed , it won't come out of limp mode till the faults are fixed.

How do I fix a fault

Not a problem. I have noted that the F4 Ignition fault you are getting is with a Glowworm 18si boiler.

This relates to the burner system and will need a gas licensed technician to fix it.

I am providing you reference to an Installation and service manual to help you understand the likely fault but under no circumstances is this an invitation to attempt to fix the fault unless you are a qualified gas technician. Refer page 37 in the manual.

Malfucnction Indiator lamp

The malfunction indicator lamp(MIL) indicates a faulty sensor/s in the ECM system management. If it is flashing it will be a code as to the fault and the faults can be read by a scanner to determine the nature of the fault. Once the fault has been fixed then a scanner can be used to reset the MIL

My Astra CDTi has cut down to tickover and will not rev on throttle fault spanner comes on . It has happened before but cleared by turning ignition off and restarting. Tried this but no joy

run fault codes and check for accelerator position sensor and other related faults. Faults have to be physically fixed so turning the key off and on will do nothing to fix a problem

Check engine light

The check engine is a fault indicator, it will stay on until the fault is fixed and a certain number of miles driven to check that the fix was successful, it can' t be reset, you can erase the code with either a OBD 2 scan tool, or in some cases by disconnecting the battery for 1 hour, but if the fault is not fixed the light will come back on in short order. Very seldom do you fell anything different unless the fault is transmission related.
