HI. The fuel filter is located in the engine compartment, mounted to the firewall. Extraction will be easier if the air inlet hose and upper air cleaner housing is removed from the vehicle. This will expose the filter and allow for a better extracting experience.

Check you idle air bypass valve. Remove it and clean the inside port and surface on the plunger.

You may have jumped the timing on your car. If you are flooding out two of the cylenders this tells me that you have done so. Take it to a professional and have them look at it, unless you are comfotable with replacing and retiming your belt.

You have an electrical short issue. Check all your earthing connections to the vehicles body. Check the earthing to the engine and check for any damaged wiring causing to earth on the body. Check your sensors etc. Good luck!!

idling is the the idler valve on the intake usually just needs a clean. as for no power this can be the throttle sensor, if the throttle has blank spots it would cause this problem. if the fuel filter has not been changed in a long time it could need changing, especially if not in the last 5 years., air filter could also need changing if this has not been done for a long time. remove the air filter and check its color if its completely black change it, this can also contaminate the maf sensor, this you can clean with MAF sensor cleaner its best to clean this as it will cause engine problems such as you have. so as to conform do these first. 1. check air filter. 2. clean the idle valve. 3. clean the MAF sensor. do these 3 first before anything ells.

run the fault codes first as that always saves money backfiring is ignition timing or valve timing poor performance could be problem crank position sensor or camshaft position sensor or problem ignition control module but the codes will show the problem area

time to have the battery , alternator tested by an accredited auto electrical shop batteries test good but fail if a load tester is used and having to jump start it indicates that the battery is not good If there is not enough power available to run the ECM then it will die when the battery voltage drops below required voltage the fact that ir runs for a while and dies indicates that the alternator is not producing sufficient power to run the battery and the ECM again indicating a bad battery
