No video on ps2 slimline

By sounds, are you referring to a clicking sound? If so, your laser lens is touching your discs and you'll need to get a replacement laser to fix this issue. Since you said it won't load anything, this further confirms that your laser is shot.

The problem is most commonly the ac power cord. I have a PS2 slimline and I had a power cord that fit into the slot and was completly similar to the original cord ,but you may need to order a new cord to solve your red light situation.

Sony machines have notoriously bad lasers. I find that with the slim if you have a small amount of nail polish remover on a cotton bud and dab the laser (whilst off and without touching the laser) that does the trick

the laser lens has been knocked off kilter it may need replaced, although the whole dvd drive is much easier to install and can be purchased for less than $30.

Clean the LAsers Lens with Q-tip lightly dampened with Glass cleaner, then dry the lens. Try it see if that gets it going again.

If not your lasers lens and supporting frame is probably melting down. You will need a new laser.
Click on "repair directory" at the bottom of this screen. Then click on "Video Game consoles" Pick a good repair shop.

You will need to resolder the Video connector on the motherboard.

Poke something in the hole that the Black piece went into. Tape it down. This might put you back in business.
