Computer Says My Wacom Intuos Tablet Isn't Connected/Plugged In Even Though It Is. Can I Get Any Help On This?

So let's get this out of the way, my computer is VERY old. Almost more than 10 years old, a Windows 7 I think. I don't think this is the cause of my tablet not working, because it has worked on this computer in the past. But now, whenever I try to plug in my drawing tablet it keeps flashing the top light on and off, and whenever I try to go to Wacom Tablet Properties, it says "Your device is not plugged into your computer" and things like that. This tablet still works on my laptop, but my computer has more space. Any suggestions of what I could do?

If you have an installation disk for that tablet, you can reinstall the software

SOURCE: serial to usb wacom tablet problem

I just got Vista and it killed my Intuos2 w/serial to usb also, but here's a half solution:
Download Wacom driver 4.78-6 http://www.wacom-europe.com/int/downloads/driver/driver.asp?lang=en. Make sure you remove any other Wacom drivers, tablet, and reboot. Install 4.78-6 driver and select serial port when the choice pops up. Plug in your tablet with the serial to usb adapter, wait a few seconds and click retry. Complete the install and reboot.
Your Wacom tracking should work now, but certain things might not work like pressure sensitivity and you'll get annoying error "reinstall driver" pop-ups.

I think you can aslo buy a PCI-serial card for your computer and skip the serial-usb adapter since Vista doesn't support the adapter for Wacom tablets.. but I'm not sure if there's a working Vista serial Wacom driver either.. or ever will be. The age of XP and Legacy support is at an end my friends.

Where can i get a wacom bamboo tablet?

You can buy them new from places like Amazon or directly from Wacom. Just to confuse you more-- it used to be Bamboo, Intuos, and Cintiq. Now the entry level tablets are the Intuos, the mid-level has become the Intuos Pro, and then the Cintiq.

How can i install intuos gd 0608-u on pc running windows8.0?

The first thing you have to do is upgrade your Windows from version 8.0 to 8.1. Version 8.0 just has too many bugs plus it shouldn't automatically update anymore Check this MS page out.

Install the latest Windows 8 1 Update Windows Help

Here are the bare bones manual installation steps from the page:
Install the update manually

Make sure your PC is plugged in and connected to the Internet using a non-metered connection. Don't disconnect, unplug, or turn off your PC while the update is being installed.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap
Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right
corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up,
click Settings, and then click Change PC
settings.)

Tap or click Update and recovery, and then tap or click
Windows Update.

Tap or click Check now.

If updates are found, tap or click View details.

In the list of updates, select the update containing
KB 2919355, and then tap or click Install.

If you're prompted for an administrator password or
confirmation, enter the password or provide
confirmation.

After the installation is complete, restart your PC and
sign in.

Note: If you don't see KB 2919355 in the list of available updates, you might be missing one or more required updates. Follow the previous steps to check for updates, install all important updates, particularly KB 2919442, restart your PC, and then check for KB 2919355 again.

Once you successfully update to Windows 8.1 we can tackle your Wacom products. There have been plenty of documented problems getting the Wacom Intuos Drivers working in Windows 8.x. Just google on "Wacom Intuos Driver Windows 8.1"

First get the latest Intuos driver version from the Wacom website.

I couldn't find any separate drivers for the Wacom mouse

Intuos 4 pen clicking while hovering

You may have an issue with the drivers. If you're using the drivers on the CD, try updating to the latest drivers:

http://cdn.wacom.com/U/drivers/IBMPC/pro/WacomTablet_635w3.exe

If you're using the latest drivers and the issue persists, try rolling back your drivers to the previous release:

Wacom Intuos 3 problems

Hi Bengref
Just talked to WACOM USA about a similar (but not exactly the same) problem with my Intuos 3. One of their procedures was;

go to the ALL Programs directory,

go to the the WACOM TABLET directory

open the WACOM Tablet Properties window

click on the "About" button

while holding down the CTRL key, click on the "Diagnose" button

click on the "recalibrate" button

Another procedure

go to the All Programs Directory

go to the WACOM Tablet Directory

click on the :WACOM Table Preference File Utility"

Under "My Preferences" click on remove

Good Luck

My Bluetooth tablet does that occationally. Perhaps there is a wireless signal inturptig the wacom signal. I find cycling the tablet off then on will fix this. A bit annoying but the only solution I have found so far.
