ok, you did very good, but do you have the FSM.
working blind, car ignitions are complex (simple in theory) but complex by makers and rapid evolution. so lets look at yours, a very old post and car)
if car is a USA car, (not stated) then it is in fact OBD2.
and its a fact you can scan the car and see live errors. cranking
on all OBD2 cars. (dead spark DTC ,dead, CMP , dead CKP)
code, 340 , 355 etc?
and RPM showing 0 rpm cranking, is a huge clue. (obd2 life scan)
my guess, is you fixed the car and no post back,
nobody does here, seen 1 in 4000 posts now, with a post back.
so ill stop here, and let others that actually search, see this answer.
i hope you did a tune up first. old spark plugs are not good.
and used a fresh new test spark plug to do the tests, with proper gap.
here is a free FSM.
the tests are covered there for no spark. check it out.

a full scan tool is $9 now. no need at all to work blind, in 2013
not ever. (ask)
