My 1.5 year old Gentron 10,000 watt generator will not start with either the electric start or the pull start. There is no turnover sound. The unit has been run only about 5 minutes total during its life. I had the battery charged and was told it only registers 9.9 watts but I doubt the busy gas station even charged it at all. I cleaned the sediment cup and the spark plug looks like new and has gas in its chamber. There has been no abuse to the unit. I feel it is an electrical problem and not the gas line, but I am not sure. Can you help?
Spray starting fluid into the engine air intake and see if that starts it, if that does then you have dried fuel clogging up the works.
To find the fault please follow these steps:
If you are getting a spark, but still having trouble starting the Generator, there is most likely a fuel problem too. We can assist you with the next set of fault-finding tests if you need some help. If so please email us here: http://www.generatorguru.com/ask-the-guru/
