SOURCE: Trouble with DVD+RW Disks being compatiable or staying formatted

cos they are cheap - get some decent branded discs such as TDK or tayo yuden and it should be fine

Also check the manual and or requirements on there website and it should show which are the best discs to use for that player but TDK or tayo yuden should be fine.

www.svp.co.uk or any where you can buy discs from should be fine

SOURCE: DVD Recorder Does Not Record

Yes, I agree. Dust on the lense will create this error as it did on mine. However, to save you a lot of tech fees or difficulty in dismantling the machine, just buy a can of AIR or Duster, etc. Open the DVD slide and "unplug" the unit from the wall. This will leave the door open. Lightly push the carrier back about halfway. Use a flashlight to look into the DVD and find the center area. Place the plastic tube on the air can in this area and blow it clean. Don't scrape or touch any of the mechanisms inside for safety. Plug it in and it should work if it is dust. This of course does mean that it will likely do it again and could use a 'good' cleaning as suggested above. But it is an easy quick fix. And if you are like me, I won't use it again for another six months.

SOURCE: I own a Hitachi DZ-GX5100SW,

This looks as if it needs a clear or new disk each recording
will not record on a disk with existing data on it.
The manual should explain this,

SOURCE: Trying to write to blank

Some DVD recorders cannot write CD-RW - only DVD-RW (+ and -) as well as DVD-R (+ and -) (this depends on the brand/model). This unit probably does not support CD recording. Try using DVD-RW instead for this machine - see if it records that (do not finalise even if unit prompts you to with an on-screen message prior to ejecting disc).

There are DVD players and recorders which can play CD-RW (mp3, jpegs etc.) but I don't know of any which record this format (a PC CD/DVD-ROM drive can do this though).

Testimonial: "This was the correct solution. I bought the wrong disc pack. I should have been using DVD-RW disc."

I cannot play burned dvd's from this system in other dvd players becahse I cannot finalize the dvd. How do I finalize?

The recording may have used all the media on the disk because you let it run until it was full.
Now, there is no room to finalize the disk.

Play this back on the machine where it was recorded while recording it to another DVD recorder..
This time, BE THERE to stop the recording.
Set the recorder to a speed that leaves at least 10 minutes extra space for finalization.

When i copy a dvd it will not paly in this player. but it will play in other players . why?

Older DVD players can't recognize the data. It's not really a problem, it's just the way they are made. More info can be found here... http://desktopvideo.about.com/od/creatingdvds/f/dvdnoplay.htm

Sansui dvd recorder gives an error code c206 and a c104 when i try to record.. sounds like a common problem

C206 caanot create TOC " table of contents" C104 coul;d not finalize session.

These are all signs of the laser at it prime or the laser veryy dirty. you may want to try cleaning it first, if that does not work then repair or replacment of the unit as a whole. this brad in genral only last 1 year until the go out or reqire service.

sure hope this was Very helpful, please do leave some positive feedback and ratings for your free answer today.

Need remote code to use a universal remont on my

hello, your DVD did come with a manual I guess.Talking about universal remote,I think it comes with a manual. You can request for a new universal remote control with a manual that contains the code of the device you are using. If not you could also buy the appropriate remote control for your device at an electronic store where they sell elect products, or better still, buy the remote from the place you bought your device. if you experience anymore problems operating your device pls feel free to let me know.

There might be a firmware upgrade to allow this I would use DVD-R for full compatibility however DVD+R media from Philips is increasing in compatibility with most NON Philips and Sony players.
