SOURCE: My FINEPIX s1000fd fujifilm camera

Try these:
1) Make sure the lens cap is off. When the camera fires up, if it feels any resistance, it will stop zooming and tell you "zoom error"
2) Recharge or fit new batteries. Use 2700 power if you can get them.
3)Is there a bit of dirt between the zoom part and the camera body? I had this problem after my camera had been in my overcoat pocket. I cleared it out with a stiff artist's brush. Do NOT use WD 40 or similar, as I found to my cost on another camera. It eventually seeped through to the works and made all the pics cloudy!
4) Hold the camera body in one hand and gently wiggle the zoom part from side to side and up to down. You will hear a quiet click in the mechanism.
I have used my S1000fd lots now, and the initial "zoom error" problems have stopped.
It's a fine little camera, I especially like the 12x zoom and the live histogram. Mine has taught me lots about photography.

My Fujifilm Finepix S8000FD was unused for a long time and had its batteries leaked, I cleaned it and it says batteries are empty?

It takes 4 x AA batteries. Are the battery contacts on the compartment door, and the battery contacts in the base of the compartment clean and shiny. Usually when batteries leak, they cause oxidization on the metal.

The camera does have very specific requirements.

Batteries are required to operate the digital camera. At
first, load the batteries in the camera.
Compatible batteries
AA-size alkaline batteries (4) or AA-size Ni-MH
rechargeable batteries (4) (sold separately)
CAUTION
• Never use the following types of
batteries, as they could cause
serious problems such as battery
fluid leakage or overheating:
1. Batteries with split or peeling
outer casings
2. Combinations of different
types of batteries or new and used batteries together
• Do not use manganese, Ni-Cd or lithium batteries.
• Use the same brand and grade AA-size alkaline
batteries as those supplied with the camera.

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/54755/Fujifilm-Finepix-S8000fd.html?page=16#manual

And on the next page it shows the polarity two up, and two down. If those weren't correct, you would be on reduced power.

How do I get my s8000fd to display date and time on the photo not just on the camera?

It seems like your camera only is able to make timestamps in connection with print-out copies.

It is explained on page 92/93 in the user manual.

In case you do not have an owners manual I attached one here :

Not good photos indoors very grainy and bad light looking photos

Auto mode in poor lighting (generally always indoors without flash) sets high ISO, which produces ugly amount of noise (graininess). What you need is to keep the ISO under 200 by either:
Shooting well lit scenes, using flash etc.
or
Uusing one of the manual programs (M, S, A, P) and setting the sensitivity via the F-menu.

Fujifilm Finepix S5000

the problem might be inside. when cameras are dropped cable connections inside loosen. try to bring it to your local camera specialist and have it checked. if you open it yourself it might cause more damage.
