It seems like your camera only is able to make timestamps in connection with print-out copies.

It is explained on page 92/93 in the user manual.

In case you do not have an owners manual I attached one here :

Date display on photo

The camera will not mar your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them. However the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

How do i remove the time and date at bottom right corner of picture.

Manual can be downloaded free from here ....

http://safemanuals.com/annexe_POWERSHOT%2020A550%2020CAMERA%2020USER%2020GUIDE%2020ADVANCED%2020_CANON_POWERSHOT%20A550-_E.htm

Basically the date stamp can be turned on / off as an option on the RECORD menu. Page 33 of the manual explains it (with pictures).

Note that if the option is turned on, it states that the date / time is permanently embedded in the picture.

Hope this helps

Don't display date and time

The date and time are always saved as part of the image file. You can turn off the date display on the image in the Menu system. Select the shooting menu (icon of a camera silhouette) and look for the Date Stamp option, change it to "Off".

Using my memory card, i check my photos display with out date & time.

You will find a setting that will date/time stamp the actual image when it's taken. Please take a look in your manual. Most cameras have this feature.

Missing shot.

Any auto camera like this is going to have trouble in dark light...
Photography is all about light, and in dark situations, compromise as well.

You best chance is to set the ISO up to the highest setting available, use flash, and a faster shutter speed, however, faster shutter speeds means less light can enter the lens, and hence give a darker image. Higher ISO makes the camera more sensitive to light, but produces grainier images as a result. Flash creates artificial light...

The only real way to get good images at a concert in the dark is with a high end camera, a lens costing many thousands of dollars, a tripod or monopod to steady yourself, and a longer open shutter time.

In the meantime however, experiment with higher ISO setting, flash and try to keep your hand steady at all times because the shutter speed needs to be slightly slower for the lens to capture more light.

Hi

I only use WINDOWS so this solution is not applicable for MAC or LINUX

1) Connect cable to camera ( camera is turned off). There is a picture on page 131 of the manual
2) Connect other end of cable to PC ( PC should already be on)
3) Turn camera on by pressing PLAY button on the back and holding until camera starts. This method of turning on and off means the lens will not operate and so is ideal for when connecting to computer. Your camera LCD should like up and it should display "USB" on a white background.
4) If you have not installed the drivers (from the installation CD-ROM) then windows will try to install the software and depending on the WINDOWS version then you may be prompted to insert the CD-ROM.
5) Once drivers are installed you should get a confirmation that hardware is ready for use. If you have already installed the drivers and Finepix viewer then finepix viewer should open automatically. Finepix crashes on my PC (Windows VISTA is rubbish!) so I just use windows explorer.
6) The camera appears as an external drive in windows exploere. Look for FinePix S8000fd. Expand the folder contents until you get to a folder called 100_FUJI. The pictures from the camera are in here.
7) Use copy and paste to copy from Camera to a folder of your choice. I have a folder called "Photos" and other folders inside it arranged by date.
8) When you have finished you must turn the camera off before disconnecting. Press and hold the PLAY button until LCD swithces off and disconnect cable from PC then camera

Hope this helps
