My Homedics humdifier will not come on. It is dead. What could be wrong

The only place you are going to get parts is from the maker. They are not available anywhere else. The unit is also discontinued.

It's not a battery problem. The LCD panel of the DIGITAL SCALE has been wrong. Reasons: water, vapour, connector oxidation.

Hmmm well yes it indeed indicates that this must not be done, as if it is it will often ruin the unit, as i suspect it has in your case, indeed it is now a paperweight, sorry. The battery removal removes the memory setup contents and once removed it "Forgets" all the settings.
