There is no way to restore it towards factory settings without the restore disc on your model.

Hi to reset your Toshiba back to factory settings you just need to restart the system while restarting press 0. If i did not work you factory image is bad the only thing you can do is to get a reset disc from them. Thanks

If you have a backup, you can do that, off your hard drive. Otherwise, you will need to get a replacement disk from Toshiba.

Replace the optical unit.  Pick one

This is hard without the recovery disc. You can either:

1. Order the recovery disc directly from Toshiba
2. Buy the disc on eBay
3. Try to find an ISO download and burn the disc
4. Install another operating system (such as Linux or XP) and get the drivers

The most reliable way would be via Toshiba.
