Could be a shorted inverter blew fuse and unit dead. Or bad fuse holder got fuse hot and melted fuse so now unit dead. Must check fuse first and if bad replace and try, if it blows as soon as it tries to heat probably bad inverter. If it works for a long while then quits maybe bad fuse holder not grabbing fuse tightly making it over heat. So then bad by temperature not amperage.

SOURCE: panasonic microwave s254bf stopped working

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the thermostat to

open. When it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

If it's random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or fuse holder.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

At our site, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information.

SOURCE: microwave stopped working completely

Fan turned on after cooking because a thermostat got to hot and tripped turning on the fan to try to cool the unit.  The unit went completely dead when thermal fuse tripped which is located above the cavity on the left side.

Panasonic microwave convection oven model NN-CD997S works normal but stop heating

Judging from the model and without looking it up I expect that unit has an inverter. If it is not the Switches and you have replaced the mag, the inverter is the power supply for the mag to work so either mag not getting power from inverter or inverter not getting signals from main PCB Timer board.

Microwave not working on 5 months old

If it's totally dead, I'd check the main fuse.

If it runs, but doesn't heat, you might have a problem in the high voltage circuit.

If it's an inverter oven, something on the inverter board may have gone bad.

I have a GE Spacemaker microvave oven that was working perfectly for the past 4 years. When installed, we were told that the outlet did not work, so to get the microwave working, the cord was pulled out...

Perhaps the microwave's main supply fuse has blown.Open the cover & check it in the power supply section.Be careful & discharge the big capacitor first as there is very very high voltage present inside even after switching off.

Internal ceramic fuse repeatly blown.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead several seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount. See: http://www.microwavedisplay.com/doorsw.txt in this case.

If this unit has an inverter some parts are difficult for the average do it yourselfer to replace, such as parts which are spot welded, not using removable connectors.

In such cases, it's best to replace the entire inverter.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on them.

NN-T774 INVERTER STOPPED WORKING AFTER 4 WEEKS

Check to make sure one of the plastic hooks on the door was not broken off. If both door hook latches are functional then the most likely cause of your problem is one of the latch switches located behind the control panel. These switches will fail if the oven user opens the door frequently BEFORE the cook cycle ends. Always push STOP/RESET before opening any microwave oven door.

My Panasonic The Genius microwave just stopped working not getting any power to display. Wondering if it is the fuse and where that would be located.

HI, if this unit is totally dead, this may be a power inverter issue. there is a fuse located on this board inside the unit. you will need to gain access to this board and fuse by removing the outer cover. there should be a few screws on the outside of the microwave to remove.

Check the In-line fuse for its value. if the fuse is good, replace the power unit(inverter board)

Panasonic Microwave NN-A770S getting hot on right side externally

If you described this to Panasonic very carefully, and they said it's normal, then I would say keep using it until such time that you get other symptoms. The inverter has some parts mounted on a large chunk of aluminum called a heat sink. It draws the heat out of the parts and the heat radiates and/or convects away. This keeps the circuit parts from overheating. As long as you have good air flow through the vents, it sounds okay.
