Remote doesn't work - Televison & Video

Fear not...
Remotes are abundant & not TYPICALLY
very expensive... (NOT (look up your number now))... $7

( I buy a lot... friends & family (usually from eBay ))

I can only talk in VAGUE & "Typical" terms
(If you've ever read any of my gibberish... you'll find
I TYPICALLY gibber-jabber about everything

REMOTE ISSUE: Not particularly exotic...

Typically the HAND-HELD (transmitter) is the problem.
(Usually 99% poor battery maintenance).

About the same as a flash light...
Check the bulb ... most (NOT ALL) are visible red,
batteries and make sure the CAT (or pet mouse) is not between you and that ALL IMPORTANT (infrared) light sensor on your TV..

Light battery corrosion can be cleaned a regular
pencil "lead" (actually graphite).

More can be reversed with Q-Tips (moistened) with
white vinegar... Will come back again soon if you don't clean it (another Q-Tip MOIST with at least 70% ALCOHOL ...
(a wee little care & anti-corrosive** can get many more years of useful life out of your REMOTE.

White lithium, Vaseline...lard, squalene
(a whole NUTHER area of study)

Before you expend too much time fretting over the virtues and complexities of wave-division-multiplexing... OPTICS...
( the combining/transmitting of COLORED LIGHT over a singlemode medium.. then receiving//discriminating out
those individual colors at the distant end (as simply as a RAINBOW REFRACTS SUNLIGHT in a light rain (rainbow)...

INSECURE Pundits like to make these things sound complex and esoteric... but the simple facts are... It is NOT...
it's all JUST battery & ground

Some grounds just move faster than others!!

If you want your remotes... or emergency supply of batteries & flash-lights to be there when you need the... store those batteries in a cool DRY place... Check their expiration dates...

Replace BATTERIES as necessary.
