protection error message means that your unit's fan is not working

it is a feature to keep your unit from overheating

check if there is anything blocking the fan of your unit from rotating

if problem still persist replace the fan

Bad Caps in the right rear corner of the unit near the fan. First two in the corner.

You can try replacing it with any 10 amp fuse just to see what happens. If a new fuse keeps blowing out then you have a shorted power amplifier inside(they consist of transistor or a single chip). These device look normal most of the time short out with any visual indication. If you desolder the power amp chips(they are mounted against an aluminum heat sink to dissipate heat) and the fuse quit blowing then it is the problem.

WMP 11 will _ONLY_ install on a "genuine" copy of Windows. The only ways out of the "PROTECTION" error: * start in Safe Mode, and use System Restore to go "back" in time to a date before the problem started; * reinstall Windows from *GENUINE* media.
