Some of these functions are not available when other options are set on the camera. HDR and handheld night mode aren't available if you are saving the images with the Quality set to RAW or either RAW + JPEG option. It doesn't work with still pictures when in movie mode. HDR is also not compatible with the Time Lapse Shot or Auto Shoot in Stop-Motion Mode. I'm not sure if there are similar limits with the Panoramic shot mode.
Not in the camera, but you could shoot a panoramic and crop it later. That is what most of the panoramic camera of that era did anyways. Use your widest lens.
If the camera is in Auto mode those items cannot be selected because the camera is already using factory default settings and they cannot be changed, If you press the Ok button and change to P mode then you will be able to access all of those menu settings and make any changes you wish to the camera settings.
Double check your camera as this model did have a panoramic version available and you had a lever on the side of the camera to select normal/panoramic.
If this is not the case you may have a problem with the shutter on your camera.
Check on the negative and if the exposed part runs is the lower third of the negative it is a shutter problem and needs to be looked at by a repair tech, if the exposed part of the neg is even and runs through the middle of the frame. I am pretty sure you have a panoramic camera and you would just need to switch it off
This is the sign warning you that the shutter speed is slow so camera shake is a problem. It means use a tripod or support the camera because holding by hand will cause blurred pictures that you see.
When you see this sign you can either try to get more light on the subject or support the camera. This sign will also come on the low light conditions.
Look at the shutter speed & you will see that this symbol will appear when it falls to about 1/60th of a second.
Using a tripod is the best idea especially for a panoramic shot as when it is on the tripod you can turn the camera through 180 degrees taking overlapping shots then "stitch" them together in Photoshop or whichever software you use to create a single large panorama.
If you don't have a tripod then put the camera on a wall or lean against something to give you more support.
Good Luck!
If I remember my last Olympus camera it would only work in Panorama mode with an official Olympus memory card. No third party cards would enable that feature. My instructions read "An Olympus xD-Picture Card is
required for panorama shooting." If you are using an official Olympus xD-Picture card, there may be a problem with your camera.
Pixel Mapping is a feature of the camera to check and adjust the CCD and image processing functions. Locate Pixel Mapping in the camera's Mode Menu and select OK to activate it. Once Pixel Mapping is completed the Mode Menu displays. The bright dot should no longer appear in your downloaded images.
There is an option where you can set the camera to capture two images side by side, within the same frame. This feature is called “2 in 1” and can be accessed through the Mode Menu. Press the OK/Menu button, and use the right (>) arrow key to access the Mode Menu. Press the up (^) or down (v) arrow key to navigate to the CAMERA tab and then use the right (>) arrow key to access this sub-menu. Use the down (v) arrow key to navigate to the “2 in 1” feature and by using the right (>) arrow hey the “2 in 1” feature will be active for the next two shots. After the second shot the camera will display the menu option for “2 in 1”. You can select the option again, or you can return to normal shooting by pressing the OK/Menu button.
