My pifco 440011P dehumidifier switches on but the small green light is constantly flasing on/off.there is no sound coming from it at all.can you help?

Sounds like the float valve inside tank may be stuck in closed position. Calcium buildup is very common. Good luck Juliana. Unplug and empty tank of any water and look for the float valve it should be near top of tank. Use a small bucket and mix vinegar and water and brush. Scrub that valve. Clean it up

Unless you are licensed and qualified professional, do not try to repair a dehumidifier by yourself. If your unit is running constantly yet there is no water in the tank, try lowering the temperature control. If the problem persists, there may be a problem within the refrigeration system. You may need to pull the filter and clean it. Also try wiping off the unit itself. When the water tank is full, the unit will shut off and will not run until the tank is emptied. The dehumidifier shuts off by a safety switch in the back of the unit. If the switch is not working properly, you may try manually pressing the button or slightly bending the switch.

Motor If the fan motor is damaged or will not work, no cool air will be coming out of the dehumidifier. The unit, however, may still run. You may need to replace the motor. If the coils in the back of the dehumidifier constantly freeze, try turning off the unit for an hour or re-locating the unit to a higher position to allow the room to heat up. If your water tank is constantly full and you are emptying it on a daily basis, you may have a water leak somewhere in the room with the dehumidifier.

sounds to me that you need a new pump in there, or it's the motor.

Many dehumidifiers have switches or sensors to make sure that the reservoir is placed so that it won't leak. Look for these sensors and make sure the reservoir is engaging them. If your dehumidifier has a float or switch to indicate a full reservoir, make sure this switch isn't being tripped accidentally.
