Gps functions Im not farmiliar with; (1) How do you create a route using Humminbird gps fishfinder? (2) How do you save the route you just created? If you could tell me step by step I would appreciate it. Thanx; Steve

This model has two versions, one with the GPS as an external piece, and one with the GPS mounted internally. If the location of the internal mounted GPS cannot get a clear shot at the satellites overhead, it will tell you it cannot get a GPS fix. If it says it is disconnected, you may have a problem with the internal GPS. There are external GPS pucks available for this unit. Here is a helpful website.

If you are pertaining to software that is possible. All you have to do is go to www.humminbird.com and create an account which is free. Then have a blank sd card anda card reader attached to your computer. Have you serial and your unit type when creating an account. Then down load the software on to the SD card and when finished slide the sd card in the card slot of the unit. Power the unit on and answer the 2 question it gives you.

I think your best bet here would be to perform a unit reset which will restore your fishfinder to factory specs. You'll have to go to the Options Menu to get this done. Procedure from the manual is as follows:

Reset. With the many User Options available to customize the 300TX, it is easy to configure the unit in such a way that it is detrimental to a particular use.

By using the Reset function, all variable or user-controlled features of the 300TX are returned to the factory settings.
The reset function is an important first step in troubleshooting problems to ensure that a user selected setting is not the cause for the perceived problem.

The new sensor cable plugs into the square plugin in back of your Humminbird....it's the small square connector with 4 holes.
