Is it possible to make my Humminbird 787c2 to show METRIC unit instead of IMPERIAL?
I bought this Humminbird 787c2 from US, i live in Australia and the seller did not really know that this unit only displays imperial. Is there any way to re program the software to be able to show metric?? Appreciate any comment.

The basic principle is that it would use the customary or legal standard units for the particular country.
For instance in the US, although the metric system is legal, the American imperial (modified British) system is still used. Hence boilermaking specs and drawings would usually be in inches, feet, US ounces and pounds etc.
In Australia it has all gone metric long since, and units are in metres, mm, grams and kilograms etc. Boilermaking as a trade is nearly dead, but would be metric.
In the UK all packaging and food sales must be in metric units, but otherwise metrication is self-regulating and more or less voluntary. Because of the vast amount of equipment and tooling which has still imperial units inherent in it, much manufacturing there still uses imperial units. Boilermakers could see either system. .
One thing you might try is restoring the defaults in your unit. One other thing is go into the menu under the sonar tab and adjust your Noise Filter. You may have some type of interference going on. You can call our customer service department and they will trouble shoot it for you. Our number is 800-633-1468.
This could be a lot of things. The unit employs multiple signals to gather data and it could be the transponder not getting the signal or it could be something simple like the sensitivity. Humminbird 757c Operation Manual Sensitivity
Hi! Here is a product manual: 787C2 it will tell you how. You will need a blank sd card inserted into the card reader slot in order to take it to your computer, or you can save it to the internal memory as well. See page 42 in the manual for step by step instructions. Hope this helps out!
Hi! You NEED to have a gps lock in order for the card to show it's true potential. Also check in the menu for a setting that says "Map detail" and change it to all available. It could be the setting is on a lesser choice (like the internal mapping and not the new sd card) Hope this helps! Mike
