My Rowenta steamer tank leaks steam with a loud whistling sound after about 10 minutes of being turned on. please help.

Check the warranty information which came with your Rowenta steamer (probably in the owner's manual / instructions. Find out what you need to do to return the steamer for a working replacement.

If the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents (see below) and flush sediment out of the steam chamber .

If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical cord . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat .

If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle.

If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.

If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the soleplate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the soleplate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

Look at the bottem the screw thing may have come loose

sounds like thermostat problem...

sounds like the level of the water is below pick up tube u should be able to re adjust the pick up tube

krups bought out Rowenta. contact them at http://www.krupsusa.com/ to see if they have the parts or know where to get them

I would call a Rowenta service center to find the part and cost. If you are in the US go to the After Sales Service, Service Centers at

If you are outside of the US go to the www.rowenta.com site and select your country.

Try "cleaning it" with vinegar. It could be clogged with calcium carbonate. Replace the water with a potent solution of white vinegar and water and operate the unit until the vinegar solution is used up. I use 100% of the supermarket white vinegar and avoid breathing in the "steam." Repeat the procedure once or twice with plain water. If this works, let me know.

Same thing with my daughter's..any solution out there?
