Basslink works in 'on' but not when the engine is running

Very strange. Works about 95% of the time when I turn the ignition from acc to on, but when I start the car, the basslink usually (about 90% of the time) doesn't come back on after the brief power interruption associated with engine start.
Sometimes it will inexplicably work while I'm driving, only to cut out 10 minutes or so later--then back on after random amount of time with no sound.
I've checked the connections--they look good. I'm splicing into the rear speaker lines, into a 'hot when on' line in the ignition bundle, and using a remote volume knob.

It is a Basslink II, by the way.

I tried disconnecting the remote lead, starting the car, then reconnecting the lead--still no basslink. Could there be a current difference in the yellow line in the 'on, engine off' and 'on, engine running' configurations? How much power does the remote lead need? Won't any 12v source work?

Did you have any luck solving your issue? I'm having the exact same problem, but in my case the Basslink ii has been working fine for the last 4.5 years.

The sub works fine when the ignition is on ACC or On, but as soon as I start the engine there is no sound 100% of the time. The blue light stays on, meaning it's getting power and signal. I've double checked all wires, and the ground is secured firmly.

It's only when the engine is on, when I turn the ignition to start without the clutch depressed, the power cuts out for a few moments but the sub will come back on ok.

Doh, I didn't know how to comment instead of posting a solution, sorry about that.

Windshield washer pump works when the key is in acc and don't work when the engine is running,, grand am 2005.. is the ignition switch the problem? ,, thanks,,

Check for voltage at the wiper fuse, engine running. Use a testlite to for voltage. If the fuse circuit is hot, it's not the ignition switch.
That fuse circuit goes hot in acc or run.
I just glanced at the wiring diagram.

DehP6700 mp restet everytime keys is turned on.

first red is ignition or acc (turns off and on with the key) yellow is constant power (always hot keeps memory) orange is illumination (lights up radio) if vehicle doesnt have a seperate illumination wire connect it to the ignition wire. now process of elimination your ground is correct because it worked with all wires to acc your acc works because u had all them connected to it and it worked your problem is in your yellow or constant/memory i suggest u test it again take piece of wire any old thing long enough will do and run the wire directly from the battery under the hood and just run it outside the car through the window and connect it directly to the yellow wire make sure u have a good connection at the battery on the positive side if u have test light or volt meter test the wire before connecting it to the radio if it works then u know there is a problem with the wire from the vehicle (fuse wrong wire bad wire ) if it doesnt work make sure ground is connected tight and that paint is cleaned of the surface where ground connects and that the yellow wire to the radio is tight in the back of the radio.
