I have an Epson EX71 Projector that will not start. When plugged in, the power light becomes orange. Pressing the Power button causes it to blink green for several seconds, then go back to orange.

No other lights (Lamp, Temp) illuminate at any time, and the fan does not run. The projector shows no activity other than the orange or blinking-green Power light, which is not one of the light combinations documented in the manual.

Light source bulb bad ?? there is a sensor inside that detects if bulb is broken and wont allow to come on so

Thanks for taking the time to look into this. It's possible (likely, even) that the bulb needs to be replaced. However it doesn't appear to be physically damaged (not broken), and even if it's burned out my understanding is that the projector would also illuminate the "Lamp" LED to indicate that condition. The manual documents a number of error light combinations for various failures, unfortunately what I'm seeing does not match any of them. I expect I'll need to replace the lamp, however as it's an expensive purchase I'm trying to determine whether there are any other problems with the projector before spending the money on a replacement lamp.

Turn the projector on it comes on for a few seconds then shuts off lamp red light blinks and the fan comes on

Clean the filter on the projector. Sounds like limited airflow causing the projector to overheat quickly.

Red light flashing

Hi Michael,

There could be a number of causes starting with a clogged cooling channel. If you have not had your projector recently cleaned, this could be a likely cause. Additionally you may be having issues with the fans. If you are interested, I could have one of our technicians have a look. Projector Repair Bulb Replacement

Power light blinking

Hi,
Here I have added the link to the manual of your projector. Check the page number 88. You have only mentioned that the power light is blinking. To diagnose exact problem it should be known in which colour the light is blinking. Orange or red. Check the page on the manual.
