The relay is clicking on then sensing a power drop it opens thays why you hear a click on then off it needs a look at the diodes

I found two solutions to tripping:

Replace line output transistor TR16. Resolder capacitor C68 as will blow transistor again if not resoldered

Dry joints C68 & C71 & LOPTr slightly leaky
Looks like it would be worth looking at the board for bad solder joints and burnt components.

My screen turns black and the TV goes into standby mode (I get an Amber Light) within 3 seconds after turning the TV on.

I have the same television. Mine would shut off and turn back on every 30 seconds. Even though the LAMP light wasnt coming on in the front of the set, I replaced the lamp with a factory Sony lamp and have had no problems since. The sets picture is beautiful and I have had no problem since.

This is due to a bad power supply system which consist of an electronical board with capacitors on them that burn out.
