Stanby mode sir/ma what caused lg TV set to be on standby mode after few seconds without be timed?. Athough, it wasn't for 5days. when you turn it on, it will comes up and show but after few seconds it will be on standby mode. please, assist me to solve this. thank you.

The set is going into safety mode. This could be one of many problems and we would need to inspect the set.

All Flat screens remain in standby with an amber light ion, that is normal and it speeds up start time when turned back to active mode.

Check the power supply board. Sounds like the problem is there.

Unplug the TV, wait about 5 minutes, plug it again. This should overwrite the standby mode. Read the manual if you have one.

you can check the elco 100/160 Volt and replace it, or the problem may be caused by IC EEPROM.C2404,(2406 0r C2408 )

standby light flashing is an indication that tv needs service. it prevents the tv from further damage. go to www.eservice.sony.com to check service options

First your tv will always go into "Standby" when it receives a "Power off" signal. Made that way. Second, It is never a good thing to have your tv power plugged into a "Switched" outlet on a Cable ot Sat box or some other Component. The tv should be always be plugged into the wall outlet or through a very good surge protector.

The problem IS PROBABLY BEING CAUSED BY A SHORTED POWER REGULATOR (MX084 ) OR AN OPEN FUSEABLE RESISTOR IN THE POPWER SUPPLY...

I have normal tv model CNT 2588 code 981, remote control was out of order and I tried to buy a new one from many places in UAE, Suadi Arabia & Egypt but I failed due to it is old model and no spare parts. So I use the tv function through Satel Decoder and use tv main power button for swithing on and off. It seems that caused a problem and tv now could not get power to switch on. Would you e-mail me with the repair manual including the Elect.Circuit to try to repair the problem. Also if you can arrange to send me a new remote control model CNT 2588 code 980. Since the TV Picture and sound are still in an excellant condition, please e-mail me you kind response with the cost if any to send you my Address and money.
