Is there a way to access the T.V. menu without a remote?
I need to know if there is a way to access the menu on the T.V. without a remote. And if there is how? The problem that I am having is that I need to reprogram what channels it will go to by pushing the channel up button, so that I can get in channels here in west michigan. But, I do not have a remote. Is there a way to access the menu?

I have an Insignia (Best Buy brand) TV and you can access the menu without the remote. You can do it two different ways, but the easiest is to just hold all 4 buttons down (channel and volume buttons) at the same time for about 3 seconds. The menu will then pup up. You can navigate by using both the channel and volume buttons and for some selections you have to hold both up and down buttons at the same time. It is a VERY sloppy way of navigating and is VERY annoying but it is better than nothing. They could have made it 100 times easier by including a "Menu" and a "Select" button along with the other buttons on the front panel.
Remember, press and hold.

The manual can be found near the bottom of the Product page for this TV.
From the manual, pg 11 -
If you misplaced your Remote Control you can still access most settingsvia the MAIN MENU screen when you press both CH UP (8) andDOWN (9)on the TV set.•Some features of your TV Set will not be accessible without the RemoteControl. If you lost your Remote Control, contact a Sharp AuthorizedServicer by calling 1-800-BE-SHARP for a replacement.
on some sets you can push both the channel up and down buttons to access the menu, then use them and the volume buttons to navigate the menu. otherwise you may have to get a programmable remote control.
