It wont feed the paper it keeps say paper jam but the paper is not even going in

cut the paper evenly with scissors before attempting to feed it into the paper entry port. If you just rip it, it will jam or fail to feed.

It sounds like you are having phantom paper jams. When the printer starts a print job and tries to pull a piece of paper but can't grab it the printer thinks there is a jam but there really is not. If the paper pickup rollers are worn down they are not able to grab the paper correctly to feed it into the printer which causes this type of error. The rollers are considered user installable and come in a kit with the rollers and the paper separation pad which keeps more than one paper from being pickup up at the same time. If I load my paper at the 'proper' height, it will not feed. If I push the paper down too far, I get a 'paper jam' message. What works for me (even though it's a royal pain) is to feed 1 sheet of paper at a time. Put 1 sheet in so it's level with the top of the feed tray, then gently push it down 3/4 of an inch. That works for me. Good luck.

make sure the photo paper is in glossy side face down,
set the paper type to photo.

If it keeps jamming it's because the paper feed is probably dirty and not taking the paper properly

try to clean the back part of the printer.... maybe there some dry molden ink... that make your paper jammed

Please check the paper feed motor connector, if ok then check the supply from PCB.. 12V regulator IC to be replace..

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM A MONTH AGO. I LOOKED WHERE THE PAPER LOADS AND THERE WAS A PAPER CLIP JAMMED IN THERE. I HAD A HECK OF A TIME GETTING TO IT, BUT I DID. AND IT WORKS FINE. MAYBE SOMETHING IS THERE.

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

This machine problem can be very involved.
A paper jam as described can be in any locations of the copier.
First of all when the toner-developer falls on the base of the paper feeder, it can contanimate all paper feed shafts and even sensors, and plug connections.
Worn feed rolls can cause the machine to jam. Clean the rollers and see if it corrects the problem.
A bent paper tray can cause the copy to skew, causing jams.
Sometimes the plasic paper path baffles are warped leaving narrow gaps in the paper feed path not allowing the paper to go through properly.
A bad paper feed sensor can cause inttermittant paper feed jams. This sensor is located just above the feed rolls. A involved process to take out without breaking the plastic components.
The machine has paper feed clutches located at the back of the feed rolls. To get to them it is also involved. Sometimes these clutches slip and will cause paper feed problems. There paper feed solinoids may operate intermittantly not allowing the paper feed clutch to operate correctly.
The main board can also cause these types of problems, not allowing the correct signal to operate the paper feed solinoids.
There is so much in this area to locate and isolate for paper feed problems.
If all else fails, call Xerox for a service repair.

why do we the consumer have to submit the solution??? Where is Cannon after we purchased their product? This is total incompetency on their part!
