When I turn my Smith Corona super correct electric it makes a ticking belt, grinding, kind of a noice

It sounds like there may be an issue with the belt or the motor in your Smith Corona super-correct electric typewriter. The ticking and grinding noise could indicate that the belt is slipping or that there is an issue with the motor. It's possible that the belt may have come loose or slipped out of place during use, causing the ticking noise and the typing issues you're experiencing.
To troubleshoot the issue, you could try removing the casing of the typewriter and inspecting the belt to see if it's in place and properly tensioned. You could also try cleaning the mechanisms inside the typewriter to see if that helps. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, you may want to take the typewriter to a professional for repair.
In any case, it's important to be careful when working with electrical equipment. Always make sure the typewriter is unplugged and the power cord is disconnected before attempting any repairs or maintenance.

How do I fix the Royal Academy Electric Typewriter 1980's, when I have the power on, it works, but the keys doesn't work at all.

You may have a broken belt. They are no longer made but if you have a good hardware store you can get a long "O" ring and use it as a replacement.

I am not able to type the @ symbol on my Brother typewriter. Model #EM-530. I have tried everything it is driving me crazy. Thanks for your help!!

If it is typing the alternate symbol on the key you are in KBII. The code key with the key in the top row labeled KBII will get you out of that mode.

Smith corona SL480 instruction manual. I just need a manual so I know how to use the features built into the typewriter

How to Use a Smith Corona Typewriter A Smith Corona typewriter can be either a manual or electric model. Whichever model you have, the typewriter works in basically the same way. If you are familiar with a computer keyboard, you can type on a typewriter as the keys are laid out exactly the same. Unlike a computer, typing mistakes are harder to correct and, unless you use carbon paper, you will only have one copy of any document you type.

How to type in capital letters on facit typewriter?

You did not specify if it was a manual or electric or the model, so assuming it is a standard manual or electric machine, push down on the shift key and hold it, then type your letter or letters. If you are typing everything in caps, press the shift lock key.

When turned on - a beep is all i get-keys won,t work at all. 7040 swintec typewriter

Sounds like a broken wire attached to the carrier motor. If you remove the shell from the typewriter you can see the wiring inside. I suspect one of the wires has come disconnected or broken. Replace the wiring assembly or you can try to strip the two ends of the broken wire and twist them together, then use some electrical tape to secure.

Code key usually keys have second message are in green, yellow or red. Use code key with the small print on the key to activate that function.... Good luck
