error code 29 is a high pressure open. possible causes are dirty indoor or outdoor coil. indoor or outdoor fan not running, liquid line Freon restriction, or to much Freon in the unit.

Are you talking about a pro 5000 Thermostat??? if so then NO it will not work.With this stat you do not have a temperature lock on the heat pump. Say you don't want the heat pump to run below 25 degrees. it won't shut the heat pump. And you don't want the heat pump to run at the same time as the furnace. With the Pro 8000 3 heat and 2 cool thermostat you can lock out the heat pump at 25 degrees outside an turn the furnace on. You will have to install an outdoor thermostat hooked up to the pro 8000 it usually comes with the stat. Honeywell products.

Check your T-stat is programmed correctly. If you have a heat pump your stat should control the blower if you have a gas fired heating system your unit should control the blower.

For a rheem unit, make sure reversing vavle is set for "B" not O.
Blower may run for up to 120 seconds after shut off. My experience with hunter stats are not good (even out of box). Recommend honeywell tsat.

Ok rheem and ruud is the only co that the hp is set to the b term on the stat for heat. is the stat wired corectly? is it a hp stat? and on a 2 1/2 ton hp you should have more than 5 kw. what kind of stat? the relay is correct because you have transformer that takes 208/230 down to 24 va. let me know.

no the older rheems had a sequencer for the heat that turned on the blower at the same time that the heat strios are energized. so the first thing that you need to do is figure out the sequencer that is keeping the fan running and get it replaced.
