I am no expert. I would think that if the old/original battery is no longer working, a new battery would restore the monitor to its original usefulness. I think it is important, in any event, to take the monitor with you to your doctor's office when you go to see him and to check your BP with your monitor when the doctor uses his "professional" monitor to see that yours is reading the same as the doctor's instrument.

Usually getting these devices to be sold in parts are next to impossible as most of these devices are personally used so in most situations they are disposed of as one. Personally when i am in need of such items i surf the web for fairly used units which often come with these components but with poorly functioning engines and order them. Best search sites for these would be google, ebay, amazon and craigslist. Happy searching.

Much easier to go to a store, like Walgreens and get an inexpensive ( like 15 dollars) automatic wrist cuff blood pressure monitor, that will give you accurate and quick readings of your heart rate, and blood pressure, systolic and diastolic, automatically.

Talk to your pharmacist about a unit for such small children. As for the normal blood-pressure, consult the Dr. about that.
