The first place I would look is to the screen lighting mechanism. To prove the display is actually working, you should be able to catch a reflection of very dim images on the screen in bright light.
Hope this is of some use to you.

SOURCE: blank screen dell 830

Look for the key with the picture of a LCD / Screen press FN + that key. Usually F7. That should switch the display back to the laptop screen.

Screens cut out, flash and then come back on frequently

It will be drivers. I had endless problems with a toshiba dynadock which took days trying to sort out. Once Toshiba released the windows 8.1 driver it worked a treat. You will need to use different drivers for each docking station.

Dell duo station

I had the same issue. I tried opening the dock and could not find anything wrong. It seems the charger was delivering sufficient voltage. So I disconnected power to the charger and reconnected couple of times and it started working again. My charger has a LED light and based on the brightness of the light you can findout if the output voltage is close to 20 volts.

My screen goes dark when I use my laptop. I have a docking station with monitor and the machine works fine. However when I undock or start up with just the laptop the screen goes black. I can still see...

Hi wilhejl,

I see that you are experiencing a video issue with you back light on this case,
you mentioned when docked on your docking station you see the video on you monitor but when undocked you get a black LCD screen and see shadows of what is on the LCD screen.

this is a back light issue that you are experiencing.

We can try and check some settings regarding this concern and se if there is anything we can do to correct what you are experiencing with your laptop

As soon as you turn your Laptop on keep on tapping F1 to will bring you to the BIOS screen if the BIOS shows up on you LCD screen without going black then most probably yo may need to change some settings in windows regarding the the LCD and power options.

  • Try docking back into your docking station and inside windows go to power options, and set your system power options to balanced.
  • On your Desktop right click anywhere on an open space to get the menu list click on personalize then click on display then click on advance settings, look for screen refresh rate change it to 59Hrtz then undock from your docking station and try booting into windows without using the docking station to check if the video will show on the LCD again on this issue.
I hope that this can help regarding your case,

Have a nice day.

Display has gone from my wharfedale tv just a blank screen and sound

hi, the main cause of this problem is that one of the leads in either the back of the telly or in the back of the player your best bet would be to remove all the leads then plug them all back in and try again and you should find this will solve your problem.

Also make sure your telly is on the correct source or av station as this can also cause the problem your having so just have a flick throught your source or input or av channels do this after you have re-fitted the cable correctly and you should find this solves your problem.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

D630 docked , ext mouse & kybd not responding

If the docking station has power:

Make sure power is off for both the laptop and the docking station. Plug your keyboard and mouse into the docking station. Dock the D630 to the docking station and then power on docking station. This should then turn on your D630. Your D630 should detect the keyboard and mouse.

If the docking station has no power:

Verify that the power cord, AC adaptor, etc. is plugged in. If the items listed seem to be in order,
there may be a problem with the power going into the docking station. (AC adaptor?)

support.dell.com will have the specific details for your D630 and your docking station, et al.

Please let me know if you have success in this.

Docking station

Vivitar was purchased by Sakar and they do not support anything that Vivitar used to make or carry any of the products. I suggest looking on ebay to see if anyone is auctioning it. If not, Google it for something like "Vivitar DVR 390H docking station".

But to be honest, it probably is not the docking station. I have had the same problem, as many others have had, that the connector in the camera is the issue. This camera has TONS of design flaws.

Archos 604 dvr blank screen

It sounds to me like there's an Component A/V cable issue. Please re-check the cable connections making sure they are connected correctly. When using the docking station and Component A/V cables you must be sure the cables are connected with their corresponding colors on the back of the DVR Docking Station. Also check that the format of the recording is compatible with the "TV Standard" in the settings menu of your Archos. It will be either NTSC (USA) or PAL (Europe). Be sure to check the Video Output Settings of the Archos to be sure it is set to the same type of cables you are using- component, RGB, s-video or composite. Good luck!
