Docking station My T41 does not start up when. using the docking station. It hangs on the IBM start up screen.

If the docking station fails, but you can charge via the computer, then the station is defective. Check the connections and the power supply to the Doc Station. A power surge may have damaged the power adapter to the station.

NUMBER LOCK
You have press the NumLk key (number lock) and this changes the right hand keys to a number pad.
Press the NumLk key (also doubles as the ScrLk key to toggle the Number lock). it is near the F12 function key. When the NumLk has been enabled a LED light is turn on to indicate this function has been selected. Press the NumLk key again to turn off the Number Lock.

Try without connecting any devices.
Try to disconnect the dock.
Try to boot in safe mode.

Most likely cause over on your part would be a bad connection from the dock to you. I am not an expert on laptop docks, but try to check that all the cables are nice and secure. Also, check that there is no stray objects in the connections. If all else fails, you may have a bad dock station.

No no necesitas drivers pero si necesitas el power del dockstation para que funcione.
podes agarrar en ebay un power barato para tu dock.

Open the device manager and check if the usb drivers are there. If not, you'll need to go to IBM's site and dowload them. If they are, then the usb port is faulty and needs replacing.

Try removing all the USB devices in Windows Device Manager with the laptop docked. To do this: Right-click My Computer, left click Manage. On the right side of the window, click Device Manager. On the right side, click the + sign next to USB Devices. Highlight each device under this heading and hit Delete on your keybaord to remove all the devices in order. Then right-click Computer at the top of the list and click Scan for Hardware Changes.

Hopefully Windows will re-detect your USB devices and get them back operational.

Turn the machine off and press the eject button on the dock. If you locked it then you need to turn the key for it to come out. The eject button usually has a picture of an up arrow over a horizontal line.
