I plugged the AC adaptor that comes with the package. Power went out. The adaptor smelled burnt. tried another ac adaptor, power is back but the speaker has no sound. Why?

Depends on how big it is, probably not, either the transformer coils might be burnt, causing a short (did you see or smell magic smoke?), or the diodes might be burnt (did you see or smell magic smoke?) or capacitors might be blown (did you see or smell magic smoke?)

try removing the battery and connect the ac adapter. check if it powers up.

The only solution is try the laptop with another similar laptop's ac adaptor if that works issue is with the ac adaptor of your laptop else with the laptop itself

i hope you have tried changing the power socket already

you may have burn the game with wrong voltage and now it wont work until you send it to repair internally. you must have fried the internal circuit board.

or you have a faulty ac adapter, take your wii to your friend house and try with her ac adapter.

Most likely you shorted your power plug on *********** board I would think green dust is burned residue. Smell where you plug your ac plug to and see if it smells like burnt plastic?

I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a Phillips Power Inverter that provides AC power from any car outlet. Just plug the AC power plug into it and then plug into the lighter plug socket. It solved my problem....It costs $19.99. Hope this helps!

you must change the ac adapter. try to check first your ac adapter then make sure not broken. after you check the ac adapter then you find damage, then you have to replaced with the new one.

There were several recalls on Compaq's ac adapters and batteries that caused fire to units...

I would also check with compaq about your problem. They were replacing and repairing the units free of charge due to the defects. I would check with them

Hi Jess......I have one of these TV's but in a 30". Could it be the AC Adaptor? Does yours come with one? My problem is the AC Adaptor stopped functioning therefore I have no power going through my TV. It is frustrating not getting any useful help on this TV. I will never buy a noname again. Would you know or have an 800 number or know where I can buy another AC Adaptor for my 30"? I think your problem my well be similar to mine.
