At this stage, try replacing ps Caps. Old elements had cap problems in ps area.

PHD42W39US is one of the very few plasma TVs that I have seen, which does not have separate sustain boards - they are both into one.

That is bad to a degree but also good to a degree as you won't need to wonder which sustain has failed the YSUS or the ZSUS.

Of course it is possible that there is something else that has failed. Power supply would be the main alternate suspect, but if the TV comes on and stays on then the power supply is likely good - unless damaged in a very very specific way - so specific it isn't at all likely.

Power on your TV and press the INPUT button on the side of the TV repeatedly and rapidly until you can change it to a different input, such as AV.

If this does not work. Try this: With the TV off, press and hold the input button on the side of the TV for about 5 seconds. The TV should power on and the input list will appear. Let me know if either of these work.

The electroliytic caps on the power supply module needs change, or ust replace the power supply.

You have a power supply problem. Within about 32 seconds the picture drops out because the backlite transformers shutdown. Yoy will have to find a new power supply or have some one fix yours.

My Element ELCHS261 will not turn on at all. The only thing it does is the red light will turn to blue but no sound and no picture. My troubleshooting items have been changed the batteries in the remote then I unpluged the power for for 30 minutes and still nothing.
