If there is no data in laptop that you need to keep....

then press F8 key when you power -on the sytem

Select "Repair your computer" option press "Enter" key

Click "Reset your PC" option.

After an hour or little more time.. system will restart.

Alternatively you can press the relevant system recovery key (usually F11) if displayed at system startup.

You will find more info. on Factory reset on HP website

  • you should be able to put in the first disk and run it - it will then give you options to delete partitions, re do the partitions and reformat the drive - so you should be OK in whatever state the harddrive is in to start afresh with the recovery CDs - they are designed to work with new harddrives or harddrives in an unknown state.
  • what operating system do you have XP, Vista , windows 7 ??? - you should be able to find a youtube video with an example of doing the installation.
  • Also the recovery CDs should have all the drivers for the machine - but just to check do this Press the Windows key (bottom left of the keyboard} and at the same time press the R key, now in the search box that appears - type devmgmt.msc - then look for anything with a ? or X in yellow, if anything is listed- then you are missing that driver and they will be available to download from the HP link below - Usually you just need to download the file and double click on it to install

To Factory Reset your HP Stream, you need to use HP Recovery media. If you have not created recovery media already, you can do this by referring to "Creating HP Recovery media" section on Page 46 of the following user manual link for HP Stream Notebook PC:

One you have the recovery media, you can Factory Reset your HP Stream by referring to the guidelines mentioned in "Recovering using HP Recovery Manager" section on Page 48 of the link above.

You don't say the make and model of the camera but the manufacturer's warranty is usually one year. If you purchased an extended warranty from Walmart and you can't get to the website, go to customer service at Walmart and let them try to gain access to the website.
