The camera will not take a picture, the orange

The camera will not take a picture at the moment, the orange light continues to flash (beneath the button you press to take the picture) and then it pauses and when you press the 'play' button it has not taken properly. We want to be able to press the button once and for it to take a picture (not the half press to focus it)..is there something we can do to fix this ourselves or does it need to be taken into a shop for repair?

This light flashes to show the camera is out of focus or you need to turn on Automatic flash in low lighting conditions.

The reason you must press the button half way is to engage auto focus. If you take pics by pressing once without doing this the picure is likely to be poor quality.

Keep practising the two push method with the button as it takes a while to get used to it. There is no way of changing this method other than ignoring it with subsequent poor results.

Also if the camera is delaying or not taking the photo check to make sure it is still in Auto mode and that you have not selected another mode that is delaying the shutter action.

Orange light flashes on when turn on Olympus c-50 zoom camera and orange and green lights in upper left corner blink when try to take pictures. Won't take any pictures

The flashing Orange light means the charge is flashing.
The flashing Green light means the focus and exposure are not correct.

Have you recently replaced the batteries? Or are you using rechargeable batteries? Lack of enough "Juice" could allow for the flash to not charge up (Orange) therefore not allowing the camera to get the correct exposure (Green). I would try new fresh batteries or a new battery pack. If that doesn't fix the issue it must be a bad circuitry in the body that is shorting not letting the flash charge.

Jacob

When ever i take a picture, the orange light turns on acting like its going to take a picutre but it doesnt. When i take it off flash, it takes the picture.

The orange light blinking means the flash is charging, once the light goes off you can go ahead take picture with flash. Your light keeps blinking because the flash is not ready.
Try with fully charged batteries. If it won’t work, you may have an open fuse or something wrong with the flash circuit.

I have a canon powershot 750

An ideea would be pressing the button a little bit harder and a little bit longer. Most of the cameras have that orange light before the flash(that appears when you press harder on the button) to reduce the red-eye effect in the pictures.
If this doesn't work, look carefully in the manual or the settings of your camera and try to find an option that turns on the flash. Also the type of the picture(indoor, sunny, night etc) can automatically disable the flash.
As a last resort, here is the camera's manual

My flash won't work!!!

Check to make sure your camera's not on the A530 recall advisory list. Maybe the flash capacitor isn't getting enough power due to the shorting described in the advisory?:

Kodak Easyshare Z760 orange light flashing

The flash does not charge separate from the rest of the camera. Try cleaning the flash sensor on the front of the camera or the flash led may be bad.

Secondly, this light functions as a flash sensor which is trying to tell you that you need to use a flash although you may have the flash manually turned off. looks like a bolt of lightning with a circle/slash through it.

OLYMPUS 410

It is something that seems to be a problem with the Stylus 410s. Olympus will not repair them unless they are under warrenty, I've tried. My best advice, and what I am in the midst of myself (I have 2 of these with the same problem) is to file with the BBB. Perhaps if enough complaints come through, they will begin to fix the stylus 410 defect as they should. Good luck. =)

Wont speed up even with new batterys

The shutter button features a two-stage action. shutter_button.gif Pressing Halfway Pressing halfway automatically sets the exposure, focus and white balance.
The indicators light or blink as follows.
Upper Indicator
" Green: Metering complete (two beeps sound)
" Orange: Flash will fire
" Blinking Orange: Camera shake warning / Insufficient exposure
Lower Indicator
" Yellow: Macro Mode / Manual Focus
" Blinking Yellow: Focusing difficulty* (single beep sounds)
* When the indicator blinks yellow, lock the focus before shooting.

Pictures reddish or orange

Although normal room lights (tungsten lights) appear white to our eyes, their light is actually much "warmer" than daylight, giving a reddish or orange color to pictures. This happens with digital and film cameras. To prevent or lessen this reddish or orange color: If your digital camera has a selectable White Balance mode (check your camera's User's Guide) and you are not using the camera or external flash, set the White Balance mode for "Tungsten" light. If your pictures are reddish even when you use the camera flash or external flash, the room lighting is overpowering the flash. Try setting the White Balance mode for "Tungsten" and continue to use the flash. If your camera does not have a selectable White Balance mode, use the camera flash or external flash when taking pictures in lighting that makes your pictures turn out reddish or orange. If you can, turn down or turn off one of the room lights (without making the room too dark), or move your subject so that it is not being hit directly by the room lights. If you can, when taking pictures in the daytime, try opening any drapes that might be covering windows. Letting in natural daylight improves the color quality of the lighting.
