My hunter fan was working then just quit. It does have a remote which I put a new battery in. First the dimmer quit now it quit completely. The fan doesn't work either. There is power to it. It's not even two years old yet.

You probably need a new receiver. Call 1-888-830-1326.

SOURCE: need instruction page for the Hunter light/fan remote control

There is a battery in the hand held remote and another battery in the receiver which gets tucked into the ceiling mount cover. Remove the ceiling cover and you will see the battery there, usually a 12 volt battery.

The upp/down slide is a dimmer.

In the event that changing the batteries doesn't solve your problems, Hunter makes replacement remote sets, available at Home Depot, lowes, etc and usually around twenty dollars.

SOURCE: hunter fan remote 85095-02, red signal light glowing continualy

It's continually transmitting. My guess is there is a button stuck causing the unit to run down batteries. If no button stuck, you'll probably have to replace the remote -- it's a fulty transistor.

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan w/ remote won't work

You need to change the receiver inside the fan. It is located in the top canopy of the fan. you don't have to buy a new remote just the receiver to save money and match the dip switches to the remote.

Compact Flourescents won't work in ceiling fan

Simply use regular bulbs. It sounds like it is switched electronically probably via a dimmer. If the CFL lamps are not specifically labeled dimmable they won't work. I have seen the LED lights work where the CFL lamps will not. If you want to use CFL then replace the dimmer.

We need to replace the original remote unit from this fan (Model 9308R) since I wan to use LED bulb and it is not compatible....does not turn off completely and flickers when on. We purchased a universal...

Did you make sure the fan speed switch is set on high? Also, double check the remote wiring to make sure the fan wire is not disconnected. There's no such model # for hunter as 9308R!

If you have a remote then you can't use the dimmer switch on the wall. Put in an on/off switch.

My hunter ceiling fan light keeps turning on randomly, it has been installed for @3 years (just recently started doing this). I have a remote control

There may be another remote control in the room/house that is causing it to turn on. A member of my family has a fan that uses a remote, when they turn on their stereo it also activated the dimmer on their ceiling fan light.

step 1 would be to ensure that it isnt other remotes that are causing this to happen.

step 2 would be to replace the batteries in the remote for the fan. once they are replaced use the remote to turn on and off the functions that are being turned on randomly.

if it is not anything to do with remotes, have the person that put it in for you disconnect it from power completely to try to reset the control board.

if that doesnt help, you may have a defective product that needs to be replaced.

if this doesnt work, report back with some more detail and I will try to help.

Hunter ceiling fan remote problem

You will most likely need to replace the receiver with a new one from hunter. The receiver is actually a complete controller and contains the receiver, relays (which you hear clicking) and starting condensors(large capacitors which hold a charge that is "dumped" over the windings to get the motor to start from a dead stop). These appear to be pretty tightly assembled unless you have a desire to start replacing parts "off the board."
