I have a summit 4500. the belt is off center to the left side and I have use all the adjustment and the belt doesn't move

How do I take the plastic guards off so I can see what is going on?

Good day.
The belt can go off track for a number of reasons. If you say you've used all the adjustment and the belt doesn't move. To me this could mean that the belt either doesn't rotate or it is not moving to the center (centre), or to the right. I presume you mean it doesn't return to the center. But since you have said you've used all the adjustments, that also means that you have actually removed the plastic guards off to have done the supposed adjustments needed to make the belt track back in the center. So, here is the confusing part. Depending on which plastic guards you removed to do the supposed adjustments, normally the belt tracking bolts are at the foot of the treadmill. Stand on the treadmill, looking at the Instrument panel, the foot of the treadmill is behind you. There are two hex type adjusting bolts, one on each side. Now if the belt pulls left, you don't tension the left adjusting bolt, which would stretch the belt and make the treadmill labour worse. A belt that pulls sideways now but not when it was new, shows that the treadmill belt had been neglected. Instead, try slackening the right adjusting bolt to loosen the tension of the belt. An over tightened belt makes the motor work harder, leading to overheating and cook out, plus it also stretches the belt unnecessarily. A lose belt also means it slips at the revolving rotor (motor side) each time you impact the belt with your feet as you run or jog, therefore it means that the slippage will cause the rotor or the belt to wear out. To check on the correct tightness, lift one side of the belt at the center of the platform. It should raise no more that 2 and half inches. if it is less, it is too tight, if it is more, it is too slack. Either way, it is for you to experiments because you could be a six foot five and weight a tonne or you could be a four foot two and weight like a butterfly. Each person is different. Most treadmills are adjusted for up to five foot ten and for those that are taller or bigger, there are treadmills designed for them too. As you know, there are treadmills for all walks of life, small ones, medium ones and large ones, all designed for the appropriate weight ratio in mind. You can't use a small treadmill if you're six foot two and weight 14 stones (90 kg). There are treadmills to accommodate larger people. Most belt failures are the result of... like I said above, a number of reasons. One of them is the failure to maintain a treadmill. Lift the belt and place the palm of your hand on the metal platform (where the belt glides on) and feel if it is sticky, hard to slide the palm of your hand, or feels dry. If any of thei si evident, then your treadmill od labouring and that means the result of the belt running to one side is because it has been stretched as the motor laboriously and continuously been trying to keep going. I have a Stream treadmill and every month of continuous usage, I lubricate the underside of the belt with a quality silicone lubricant, in spray form. I never spray it directly underside, especially if I have carpeted floor, but if you have lino or polished floorboards, I suggest you don't spray it at all because it stains carpets and makes lino and floorboards slippery. Instead, use a lint free cloth. Go outside, spray the lubricant on the cloth to just soak one side, then shape the cloth into a ball, return inside and lift the belt at the center and apply the wet site of the cloth on the platform, not under the belt. Spread the lubricant evenly across the center of the platform but not towards the rollers, just the center. Then run the treadmill a little. Stop it and reapply it again. Repeat the process a third time, then run it again. Then stop it and lift the belt. With the palm of your hand, see if you can feel any moisture or a slippery feel on the platform. If it feels slippery, then the belt is lubricated properly. Do this only every month of daily use. The lubricating of the platform is almost very little. never over lubricate or you'll soon see that excess lubrication stains the machine. You can hear it when the belt runs dry. A belt that is adjusted and lubricated properly runs almost silent, but a dried out belt sounds raspy.

Walking belt not properly aligned

There are two holes on each side of the back covers of the treadmill. They have the adjustment bolts in them for the rear roller and It will require an Allen wrench to adjust it. If you tighten one of the bolts it causes the belt to move away from that side. So if it's the left side of the belt that's moving close to the rail then tighten the left side and vise versa for right. Turn the unit on and set the speed to about 3. Tighten the side that the belt closer to the side rail about a quarter turn. Be patient and give it a minute to settle after you adjust it. Repeat until the belt has moved back to center. If it moves too far just back it off a bit.

How do i tighten my belt on a ironman treadmill

Hey Joe, at the back of the treadmill, you have the rear roller. The roller has a tension screw in both sides that are the adjusters as well. As you tighten the right side it will force the belt to the left, and vice versa. I turn the walk belt on to speed two, be carefull the belt will be moving. Slowly adjust one side and watch the belt move, then the other side until it centers. Shut it off, the belt should lift from the middle no more than two inches with a firm lifting force. That's it. You might need to tweek it to keep it centered.

How do I replace the fan and air condition belts on a RAV 4 Toyota 1999

Loosen off the tensioner pulley in order to loosen the belt. First, loosen the bolt in the center of the pulley in order for it to be able to move, then turn the long adjuster bolt off to the side of the pulley in the bracket, and then the position of the pulley will change, allowing you to loosen it enough to get the belt off. Kind of hard to explain, but look for the pulley that is all by itself that doesn't turn anything...that is the one that adjusts the belt.

I have the Incline Trainer X7i. i lost the manual. the belt is tracking to the left and rubbing the side. how do i adjust the tracking to get it back to center?\r\nthank you,

Find the allen key that came with the treadmill. It is used to assemble and adjust the treadmill.
Locate the 2 adjustment screws at the rear of the machine. If the belt is shifting to the left, tighten the left screw (turn clockwise) and the same if the belt goes to the right, tighten the right.
Only turn the screw 1/2 turn and move the belt manually to shift the belt. If it requires more, turn another 1/4 turn, very little adjustment may be required to straighten the belt. Once the belt stops rubbing, start the machine running slowly (1-2 mph) and observe the belt FROM DIRECTLY BEHIND THE MACHINE. Carefully adjust the rear roller till the belt is as close to center as possible making small adjustments, 1/8-1/4 turn clockwise of the adjustment screws.

On my Sears ProForm 730 treadmill, I cannot make the belt move to the right (it is rubbing on the left side) by turning the left-side back belt screw clockwise (in any amount). The belt is walking back...

The belt does not need to be replaced more than likely. The problem is probably because that adjustment bolt is stripped out causing it loosen and keeping it over on that side. ProForm sells star washers that help them stay steady and not slip out. I would call them and ask for a couple of star washers and a new adjustment bolt for that left side.

To adjust the walking belt, locate 2 hex head bolts, one on either side of the deck on the very back of the machine. These bolts will be recessed inside the plastic covers. Your treadmill came with a tool for this, but if you can’t find it, a standard (not metric) allen wrench kit will work. It’s helpful to have a wrench in each bolt so that you can adjust them at the same time, but one will work.

The allen bolts thread directly through each side of the rear roller. As you tighten the bolts, it pulls the rear roller away from the front roller, tightening the walking belt. This also centers it; if you tighten one bolt, it pushes the belt towards the center of the walking deck away from the bolt you’re tightening. So if the belt is too far to the right, tighten the right bolt and it will move towards the center.

Place your wrenches in the roller bolts and turn the machine on to 3-4 miles an hour. Keep your fingers clear of the belt, it will eat them. This method is quick, because you can see the belt move as you tighten one side or the other. It takes a few seconds, but if you tighten the right bolt for instance, you will see the belt move to the left. If the belt is loose but centered, tighten each bolt ½ turn and then get on the machine and see if it slips. The user manual will tell you to pull it up a couple of inches to test the tightness, which is a relative method and doesn’t necessarily work. My wife can pull on the belt and get 2 inches, and I can probably get 3 or even 4 if I’m showing off. The best way to test it is to gradually tighten it until you can run on it without it slipping.

You should lube the belt a couple of times a year. You can get them from iconfitness.com

Everything seems to work fine except a small slip in the track about every 30 seconds or so. Is there something that needs to be tightened?

The walking belt may be too loose. If you have made recent adjustments, lubricated, or had repairs, a belt can slip if not tightened. The belt can slip if you have too much friction or if the belt has been recently lubricated. If lube does not help your problem and you have exhausted all other possibilities, the walking belt is most likely worn out and must be replaced.
To adjust the belt: Less Belt Tension: turn both adjustment bolts on back of treadmill in a counter-clockwise direction. More Belt Tension: Turn both adjustment bolts equally in a clockwise direction. Center Adjustment (moves belt center to the left): Turn left-side adjustment bolt counter-clockwise. How do you stop paper jamming on a belt sander

there is a knob that moves the front roller [rotates] the roller side to side to center a moving belt - the grit belt. the roller has a slight bevel from the center out to the edge. both edges. use the trigger to start the belt in short spurts and move the knob. eventually you'll get the belt to track on center.
