The current time and date are shown on the display when the machine is on and ready for use (standby mode). The time and date are printed on all faxes you send.
Note: If power to the machine is cut off for over 30 minutes, when power is restored, the machine prompts you to reset the time and date.
1. Press Setup. The display shows the first setup menu; FAX NUMBER/NAME.
2. Press left arrow or right arrow until 'TIME/DATE SETUP' appears, then press
Start/Enter. The display asks you to choose a date format.

4. Press left arrow or right arrow until you find the desired date format, then press
Start/Enter.
If you select USA, the time and date appears in the order of month, day, then year. The EUROPE format will be displayed in the order of day, month, then year.
The display shows the currently set time and date using the selected date format.
5. Enter the correct time and date using the number keypad.

Year = four digits
Hour = 00~23
Minute = 00~59
You can also use left arrow or right arrow to move the cursor under the digit you want
to correct, then enter a new number.

Our Genicom Tally printer fails to keep settings. The model type is 6312. What could be the problem?

There may be a number of reasons for the 6312 failing to keep your settings, the first thing to identify would be that you have changed the settings on the printer and then saved these settings. If you do not save the settings to a menu / configuration they will be lost if the printer is powered off or receives a reset command.

Once you have made your settings changes, the settings can be saved in the following way;

Ensure the pritner is OFFLINE
Press Menu
Press Up Arrow until display shows Config Menu
Press Enter
Press Up Arrow until display shows Configurations
Press Enter
Press Up Arrow until display shows Save
Press Enter
Press Up Arrow until the Config Number Or Name appears that you want to save the settings to (Default is Confg 1)
Press Enter
Press Clear, to return to Offline mode.

If you save your settings you can then print a configuration report to see the values that have been saved, this can be done in the following way;

With the printer OFFLINE
Press the Menu key
Press any Arrow key until display shows Config Menu.
Press the Enter key.
Press any Arrow key until display shows Printer.
Press the Enter key.
Press any Arrow key until display shows Report.
Press the Enter key.
Press any Arrow key until display shows All Configs.
Press the Enter key and the configurations will be printed.

This should show your saved settings, try powerign th epritner off and back on again and again print the Congfig report to check the settings are retained.

If you find the settings appear to change when you print to the printer this will be caused by your print job, escape commands in the print job will take presidence over the printer menu settings.
You would need to check the host computer system to see what might be causing the problem; chack page size, fonts, ensure the correct printer driver is used etc on the system.

I replaced the shuttle and need to do the phasing adjustment. Can you tell me how?

IMPORTANT The printer must be printing the Phase pattern of “H’s” when the Phasing Value is changed, or the New Phasing Value will not be written into NVRAM. If the value is changed when not printing, the printer will return to its default phasing
value when powered off then back on.
1. Install the ribbon.
2. Load full width (136 column) paper.
3. Power on the printer and set top of form.
4. Press Stop to put the printer into NOT READY mode.
5. Press Scroll + Scroll to unlock the Enter key.
6. Press Scroll + Scroll + Return + Enter to enter the CE Tests menu. (Press all four keys at the same time.)
7. The display will show “SERVICE / PRINTER MECHANISM TESTS”, the first menu item. Press Enter to enter the
mechanism tests menu.
8. Press Scrollor Scrolluntil
“PRINTER MECHANISM TESTS / HAMMER PHASING” is on the display.
9. Press Enter. The printer begins printing all H’s, each line preceded by the phasing index number.
10. Press Return. The display will show
“SERVICE / PRINTER MECHANISM TESTS”.
11. Press Scroll or Scroll until “SERVICE / HAMMER PHASE VALUE” is on the display.
12. Press Enter. The top line of the display will show
“HAMMER PHASE VALUE” and the bottom line will show the current phasing index number.
13. Press Enter. The phasing index (followed by an asterisk) will move up to the top line of the display.
14. Press Scroll or Scroll to increase or decrease the phasing index, then press Enter to activate the value as it prints.
Continue to increase or decrease the phasing index until the pattern of H’s appears.

15. When the print pattern is acceptable, press Stop. Printing stops, and the printer automatically enters the current phase
index value into NVRAM. The display shows “NOT READY”.
16. Press Scroll + Scroll to lock the Enter key.
17. Close the printer cover. Press Start to put the printer into READY mode.
NOTE: If you changed the phasing value, power down the printer, remove the shuttle cover, and write the new phase value on
the aluminum shuttle casting.

http://depts.washington.edu/uwmcdir/spectralink.html Correcting Spectralink Errors Below are instructions on performing a “soft test” which will correct any internal error 8 and 4444-444C messages on your Spectralink phone. To aid you in educating your staff you may view the following Word document showing the step-by-step instructions. Please feel free to print and post this document where the Spectralink phones are kept on your floor. Soft Test Instructions
  1. Power off the phone.
  2. Press and HOLD the volume key (VOL) and the power key at the same time (the phone will chirp and display the serial number.)
  3. Now…release ONLY the power key (phone will vibrate and make a long tone.)
