HI,

The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

SOURCE: GE GSH22SGRE - water dispenser not working but ice cube maker working fine

mine did same thing. What is happening is the Water Line in the freezer door is freezing.

SOLUTION. Leave the freezer door open and turn off the freezer for a night. Be sure to dump out all of your ice cubes too.

In the morning it will work like new. To prevent it from happening again, open the FRIDGE door and use the electronic controls to raise the temperature of the freezer. You had it too cold before...thats why your water line froze in the first place.

My ice maker is working fine. My ice dispenser is working fine, There is no water from the water dispenser. When I push the button, I hear a click but no water.

I had this same issue with my GE refrigerator and figured out it is a common problem with these units. The water line freezes up near the dispenser panel. Fortunately, GE has an inexpensive solution, a water line heater, that fixes the problem with little work. Check out my blog post on my ge refrigerator water dispenser not working for complete details.

GE GSS25SGRE side by side water dispenser...

The same thing happened to me. If you pull the refrigerator out and remove the large silver panel, you will see the water lines on the left. The line going to the ice maker was fine, but the line going to the water dispenser was split. You may have the same issue.

Solenoid or the dispenser switch.

The water supply line connects to a water valve on the Ref. this water valve has two solenoids, one for the ice maker and one for the water in the door. Check this solenoid with an OHM meter.

The dispenser switch should send 110 volts to the solenoid. Check at the solenoid while pushing the water switch in the door.

You could have a layer of solid ice at the bottom of your icetray. Remove icetray. Remove any ice in bottom. Reinstall. Be careful there is a connection on the rear of the icetray, you may have to turn it to get it to mesh correctly. Fill with ice and it should work fine. Good Luck.
