This is analog video camera and can not be connected directly with computer.

Computer requires video files in digital format to store / write it on HDD or write a CD / DVD.

Best option is hook camera with DVD Recorder and burn DVD, now you have video of camera in digital format and can upload / transfer in computer for desired task.

CCD imager in your camera is defective thats why you do not see live view in LCD/ viewfinder on camera mode.

Sony announced free of cost repair scheme for ccd problem in few camcorder models and CCD-TRV128 is in list.

It's a problem of bad ccd. Please replaced the ccd which is locate at backside of the lanse unit. Check the connectore between the ccd and mainboard before replace the ccd.

There is an S-video jack in the front of the cam, the S-video cable is rather inexpensive and available at most stores that have electronics.

you can use a streaming card or Tv tuner card with composit video in for streaming

if your camera will play any previously recorded tapes , the microphone may have failed due to humidity - usually ; if your camcorder has an external mic input ? an external microphone - will confirm this ;
