Dryer will not shut off:

The timer: Located in the control console of the dryer the timer consists of a small motor connected to a series of gears that rotate cams, which turn electric contacts off and on inside the timer. The timer contacts control the dryer motor as well as the heat circuit and the timer motor itself. A defective timer motor or a defect in the timer's electrical contacts can cause the timer motor to fail and the timer will need to be replaced. The contacts can be checked for continuity with a multi-meter. This test should only be made when the dryer is unplugged. Another test u can do is observe by eyesight and see does the timer advance or is it stuck on one cycle?

1. On gas and electric dryers that have an "Auto Dry" cycle, the cycling thermostat is often used to advance the timer as well regulate the drum temperature. Essentially, thermostat will alternately turn on the heat source or the timer motor when the temperature has been satisfied. To check this thermostat, you will have to check for power to the timer motor with a multi-meter, during a cycle. This is a live voltage test and caution should be used.

2. Some dryers will use a cool down thermostat to tumble the clothes without heat, at the end of the dry cycle. Power is routed through this thermostat to the drive motor to keep it running until the drum temperature has dropped to a specific temperature. If this thermostat fails it can cause the drum to turn indefinitely or until the door is opened. You can check the thermostat for continuity with a multi-meter. This test should only be made with the power removed from the dryer.

Frigidaire washer dryer FEX831FS4. Washer worked fine. Put load in the dryer and started another wash. After about 10 minutes, both shut off at the same time. Didn't blow a fuse in the house.

i don't know. be careful with electricity. if possible, try running normal washer load along with your dryer but with [no heat] 'cold air only' to see if they will keep running.
if they run OK, consider shutting off both washer and dryer. shut off main electrical panel and change fuses for both washer and dryer. turn hydro on and run both again
with your normal settings. if they fail again please call for repairs. my dryer would not run and although everything looked and tested out OK, i had to replace a small 6x8"
electrical box having 2 only 30 amp screw in fuses.
then it ran OK.

My dryer only blows cold air I replaced the

Yes it is quite possibly your thermostats, A kit can be purchased for the majority of all Whirlpool dryers and is around $30.00 part number is LA-1053. But it can vary based on your model. However the first place i would have technician check is the fuses or breakers inside your home as this can often cause the dryer to only run on 110v when 220v is need to run both the motor and the element.Hope this helps.

Thanks

No Hot air. Model # MDE920GAYW

Replace the heater . Pt # 307178 . You'll have to remove the door first , then 4 screws holding the front panel on . Maybe even 2 screws holding the top down , to het to the element . Runs about $100.00 for the part .

Hotpoint tdc62p changed thermostats as blowing out cold air,

Make sure that all filters are properly cleaned, and that the air inlet and outlet vents are clear. Make sure water container is empty.
The best way to clean the filter at the bottom is to run cold water through it, this will clear out all the lint.. Make sure you have the correct stats ( there are many for the hotpoint range) and that you have them in the correct position on the heater back plate.
Plz rate this solution.
thanks.
