Feed dog on singer m756 won't pop up

Did you turn the handwheel? The feed teeth will not come up until the machine is operated. Run it a few stitches and they will come up.

Is this a second hand machine ?

Is the stitch length selector set to > 1
Remove the needleplate and clean between teeth of feeddogs if it has been a while since this has been done, old lint will impede feeding.
Presser foot tension for general work needs to be set at 3, or the chromed button pushed down to the grooved line, depending on machine.
If new, call the dealer where you bought it and speak to them.

Make sure that you did not disengage the feed dogs by accident. You should have some type of button that allows you to control the feed dogs.

The model 513 Singer has two gears which operate the feeding mechanism. If one of these gears is broken, the machine will run except the feed dogs will not move. This is a very common problem with this model.

I also have a German Singer 431G. Haven't been able to find a Service Manual
for it. The guts are probably very similar to the US Singer 401A, you may be able to refer to that.
